Abstract

The method used in this study isquasi-experimental method ofnonequivalent control group posttest only design.The population in this study was 8th grade students MTsN Tulungagung. The sample in this study was 2 classes from 8th grade, namely G class as experiment class and E class as control class. The result of this study acquired by learning achievement ability, social skill, and creative thinking of students who were given cooperative based learning with the high level thinking of problem-solving strategies is better than learning achievement ability, social skills, and creative thinking of students who were given conventional learning.Keywords: strategy of problem solving, high order thinking, creative thinkingAbstrak:Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan kemampuan prestasi belajar, keterampilan sosial, dan berpikir kreatif siswa yang pembelajarannya menggunakan model kooperatif dengan strategi penyelesaian masalah pemikiran tingkat tinggi. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kuasi eksperimen nonequivalent control group posttest only design. Populasi pada penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII MTsN Tulungagung. Sampel pada penelitian ini adalah dua kelas dari kelas VIII, yaitu kelas VIII G sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas VIII E sebagai kelas kontrol. Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh kemampuan prestasi belajar, keterampilan sosial, dan berpikir kreatif siswa yang diberi pembelajaran berasaskan kooperatif dengan strategi penyelesaian masalah pemikiran tingkat tinggi lebih baik dibandingkan dengan kemampuan prestasi belajar, keterampilan sosial, dan berpikir kreatif siswa yang diberi pembelajaran konvensional. Hal ini menunjukkan adanya peningkatan kemampuan prestasi belajar, keterampilan sosial, dan berpikir kreatif siswa yang diberikan pembelajaran berasaskan kooperatif dengan strategi penyelesaian masalah pemikiran tingkat tinggi.Kata kunci: strategi penyelesaian masalah, pemikiran tingkat tinggi, berpikir kreatif.

Abstract

The computational thinking (CT) skills of students will be revised, increasing their future viewpoint in the sphere of scientific activities, notably in education interest. Game-based learning (GBL) appears to have the potential to improve students’ motivation to learn. Students’ GBL is associated with higher mathematics performance, and GBL’s strong relationship with CT may have an even larger effect. The entirety of this CT education research is focused on undergraduate classrooms; little is revealed about how GBL support CT in K-12, particularly in primary schools. This study utilized a Structural Equation Model (SEM) in modelling the relationship between CT and GBL among primary school students. A sample of 90 primary school students from Malaysia was chosen. In this study, the Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Model (PLS-SEM) was employed to develop the model. The results demonstrate that empirical evidence, coupled with prior observations verified the model developed. The developed model successfully confirmed all the indicator variables stated in the constructs as all of the associations within the model were significant. In conclusion, the lower order components (LOC) along with the hierarchical component model (HCM) in PLS-SEM depicted the relationship between CT and GBL, substantiated empirically.
