Abstract

Hydrological analysis is conducted to determine the rainfall discharge that can be accommodated by the river with various specific return periods and hydraulic analysis to examine the water level that impacts the toll bridge that passes through the Sei Batang Serangan river. Therefore, this research was conducted to calculate the design flood discharge for the return period of 2, 5, 10, 25, and 50 years; and the water level elevation of Sei Batang Serangan toll bridge in the Sei Batang Serangan riverside. Based on hydraulic analysis using the HEC-RAS 5.0 program from steady flow data, the maximum water level elevation is at River Sta 5+00 of 10.52 m in a 50-year return period, and the minimum water level elevation is at River Sta 2+00 of 4.45 m in a 2-year return period. Thus, based on the flood water level of 12.691 meters, the Sei Wampu toll bridge area does not have flood inundation because the water level elevation value does not exceed the flood water level value (TMA < MAB). Meanwhile, from the results of the steady flow data analysis, it can be concluded that no flooding occurred at the Sei Batang Serangan toll bridge in the Sei Batang Serangan riverside at a known return period.

Abstract

School sanitation is one of the development priorities included in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), namely goal 4a is to build and improve educational facilities that are child-friendly, persons with disabilities, gender and provide a safe, non-violent, inclusive, and effective learning environment for all. The Development Private Elementary School is a private elementary school located in Patumbak District. This school is prioritized for the economically weak community whose parents work as laundry workers, construction workers, motorcycle rickshaw drivers and others. The foundation collects a tuition fee of Rp. 10,000/month, which is certainly not sufficient for school operational costs so that the development of school facilities and infrastructure is not up to standard. Environmental sanitation conditions in this school such as the availability of clean water is lacking, bathrooms are damaged, waste handling is not optimal, there is no place for washing hands. Based on these problems, the solution given is to improve proper sanitation conditions in the school by making boreholes with a depth of ± 10 m equipped with a pump to meet the water needs in the bathroom, renovating the bathroom, providing segregated trash cans and portable hand washing stations. In addition to providing in kind, this community service activity also provides socialization related to proper sanitation and clean and healthy living behavior to students.

Abstract

Kata Kunci : Banjir, Citarum, Flood Modeller, Pemodelan, Sungai Deli  ABSTRACT Management of Watersheds (DAS) will cause damage if one indication that a watershed is damaged is the occurrence of floods. When the condition of the river water exceeds its capacity or becomes too much, there will be flood caused by the river flood. Factors of natural events such as high rainfall intensity is the cause of flooding, coupled with the factor of human activity. One way to anticipate flood disaster is to predict the occurrence of the flood. This study aims to analyze the differences in results obtained in 1-D and 2-D modeling on yield accuracy for further analysis. Limitations of the data obtained and the accuracy of selection of flood modeling methods will reduce the accuracy of the modeling results in predicting flooding. The method consists of two parts, hydrology modeling and hydraulic modeling. Hydrology modeling in the study area is upper Citarum Watershed, West Java using hydrograph of SCS and Snyder method with HEC-HMS software, while hydraulic modeling using HEC-RAS software. The results obtained will be calibration and verification. Modeling with HEC-RAS 5.03 was analyzed for 1-D and 2-D models, then the two comparative data to analyze the difference or range of results obtained related to the selection of methods in other watersheds Keywords: Citarum, Deli River, Flood, Modelling

Abstract

PDAM Tirta Malem was established to fulfill the community’s clean water needs in Kabanjahe District through the provision of high-quality and sustainable water distribution services. The water source utilized to meet the water demand in Kabanjahe District is the Lau Bengap Spring, which has a production discharge of 50 liters/second. The problems occurring within the distribution piping system include the significant elevation difference between the reservoir and the service area, as well as the pipeline network passing through community plantations, which may lead to pipe leakage. This study aims to evaluate the clean water distribution piping system of PDAM Tirta Malem, Kabanjahe Unit, using the EPANET 2.0 software. The results indicate that the system experiences water losses of 37% and negative pressure in the pipelines reaching up to −4.16 m, causing water to be inadequately distributed to the community. To overcome these problems, the installation of a booster pump with a head of 60 m is required. In addition, replacing the 200 mm diameter distribution pipe with a 250 mm diameter pipe can also be considered as an alternative solution.
