Abstract

This study aims to explain whether the variables of Motivation and Leadership Principal influence significantly to the Performance of Junior High School 3 Officials in Berau. The result of hypothesis testing (H1) has proved there is no influence between motivation on employee performance. Through the calculation results have been done t value arithmetic -1.250 with a significance level of results of 0.227> ɑ (0.05), thus the first hypothesis is not proven Hypothesis testing result (H2): there is no influence of headmaster leadership on employee performance. Through the calculation results have been obtained t value arithmetic -0.567 with a significance level of results of 0.577> ɑ (0.05), thus the second hypothesis is not proven Hypothesis testing result (H3) has proved there is no influence between motivation and leadership of headmaster to employee performance. Through the calculation results have been obtained obtained f value 0.742 with the significance of results of 0.490> ɑ (0.05), thus the third hypothesis is not proven.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the factors that inhibit the function of Social Security Protection Division (Linjamsos) on the Social Service of Berau District in the implementation of Hope Harvest Program (PKH) as government effort in alleviating poverty and development of Social Security Protection Division (Linjamsos) an effort to strengthen the function of the Social Service of the District of Berau in the context of poverty alleviation. This study uses a qualitative method. The theory used is institutional capacity building theory from Riyadi Soeprapto (2010). The results of this study indicate that Linjamsos Social Service of Berau Regency can not optimally perform its function as the implementer of Family Hope Program (PKH) in efforts to alleviate poor vulnerable population because it still has barriers from the system in the form of lack of commitment of PKH Assistant to implement the rule expressly as legal basis, communication systems, limited facilities and infrastructure, poor road infrastructure, unknowing beneficiary families (KPM) with banking system, and inclusion of errors and exlusion errors in the KPM data validation process.

Abstract

Abstract

This study examines the potential, practices, and strategies for sustainable tourism development in the Semanting Bay Mangrove Ecotourism, Berau Regency. The background of the study departs from the role of tourism as an economic driver that must maintain the ecological carrying capacity and local socio-cultural values. The study uses a qualitative descriptive approach in a natural setting with primary (in-depth interviews/observation) and secondary (policy documents) data sources, purposive selection of informants (village governments, ecotourism managers, and Pokdarwis), and Miles–Huberman analysis (reduction, presentation, drawing conclusions) accompanied by triangulation of sources and methods. The results show that Teluk Semanting has strong prospects as an ecotourism destination: the mangrove ecosystem ±741 ha and the existence of proboscis monkeys is the main capital; sustainability practices have been carried out through destination levies, MSME promotion events, waste management, environmental education, and conservation—but the degree is not optimal. Challenges include limited basic infrastructure (access to roads, clean water, toilets, internet networks), effectiveness of promotions, and strengthening the participation and capacity of local human resources. Priority strategies include structured multi-stakeholder collaboration, improving the quality of "green" tourism products and experiences, strengthening tourist literacy, and regular coordination forums across government units. This study recommends strengthening community capacity and participatory governance so that economic, social, and environmental benefits are distributed fairly and sustainably across generations.

Abstract

The mangrove crab (Scylla serrata), a prevalent resource in coastal mangrove ecosystems, is widely utilized for consumption. Its shell offers a valuable source of chitosan, a biopolymer readily synthesized and recognized for its potential health benefits. Chitosan's unique structure, characterized by the presence of amine groups, imparts a strong positive charge, enabling it to effectively bind with negatively charged molecules such as oils and fats. This property makes chitosan a promising natural compound for managing cholesterol levels. Developing a palatable and convenient dosage form, such as an effervescent granule suspension, is crucial to enhance its public acceptance as a health supplement. This study investigated how different granulation methods (wet and dry) influence the physical properties of effervescent granules containing chitosan, both before and after reconstitution. Four distinct formulations were prepared: F1 and F2 employed dry and wet granulation, respectively, with a citric acid : tartaric acid ratio of 10% : 20%; while F3 and F4 utilized the same granulation methods but with a higher acid ratio of 13% : 26%. Comprehensive evaluation revealed that all formulations generally met quality requirements, except F3's pH (4.38 ± 0.57). Statistical analysis using an independent sample t-test indicated that the granulation method significantly affected parameters such as flow time, percentage of fines, dispersion time, and pH. Ultimately, the dry granulation method yielded the most favorable characteristics, with Formula I (F1) exhibiting superior flow properties, optimal pH, and desired viscosity.
