Abstract

Delta Presto SMEs is a SMEs that is engaged in the production of processed Bandeng fish. The products sold are fried bandeng fish, presto bandeng fish, bandeng fish brains, smoked bandeng fish. The problems experienced by SMEs are for presto bandeng fish products, the vacuum sealer owned by SMEs is old and often damaged, the suction power is low so the products can not last long, only about 7 to 9 days. The second problem is that the box used as packaging for fried bandeng fish is not laminated so that the oil seeps out of the box and the box packaging becomes oily on the top and bottom. To overcome these problems, a new vacuum sealer was procured and also a packaging design using a laminated box. The results of the new vacuum sealer can make the product last longer between 2 to 3 months because the suction power is stronger, besides that it also speeds up the production process because it can be used to vacuum two packs of pressure bandeng fish. The results of the laminated box design can improve the aesthetic appearance of the fried bandeng fish box

Abstract

UD. ABC is a manufacturing company that produces multi-purpose shelves and plate racks with a make to stock system. UD ABC faces a mismatch between production volume and actual demand, leading to overproduction, excess inventory, and idle money. This study aims to identify the most accurate forecasting method, develop an optimal production plan, and determine raw material requirements with minimum inventory cost. Demand and production data from April 2025–August 2025 were analyzed using Moving Average, Single Exponential Smoothing, and linear trend, evaluated through MAD, MSE, MAPE, and tracking signal. The selected forecast was used to construct aggregate planning, a Master Production Schedule (MPS), MRP, and safety stock. Results show that the chosen forecasting method reduces deviations between production and demand. The proposed production plan decreases production and storage costs, while MRP yields more efficient raw material requirements. Overall, the proposed planning approach minimizes overstock and improves operational effectiveness.

Abstract

The charcoal briquette MSME in Gedangan Subdistrict, Sidoarjo Regency, is a business engaged in the production of alternative energy based on coconut shell waste and sawdust. The production process involves burning, grinding, mixing adhesives, molding, and drying. However, based on observations, around 30% of raw materials are not optimally utilized because they become waste in the form of ash and coarse charcoal. This condition causes low production efficiency and increased operational costs. In addition, the capacity of the existing charcoal briquette drying machine is still limited, the molding results are often inconsistent, and the durability of the machine material is relatively low. This study aims to design a more efficient charcoal briquette molding machine that suits the needs of MSMEs by using the Quality Function Deployment (QFD) approach. This method focuses on translating user needs into technical product requirements, so that the machine design not only considers technical aspects but also meets user expectations. The design results are expected to increase productivity, reduce raw material waste, produce briquettes with uniform quality, and reduce production costs. With a QFD-based charcoal briquette molding machine design, Arang Briket SMEs are expected to maintain production continuity, increase competitiveness, and become an example of the application of appropriate technology in biomass-based alternative energy processing.

Abstract

The calculation of raw material inventory for pentol frozen products at UD XYZ using the probabilistic P Model Back Order indicates that the application of this method effectively helps the company optimize its inventory control. The probabilistic approach provides more accurate considerations in determining order quantities, order intervals, and minimizing the risk of stock shortages. The results show that beef reaches its optimal point with orders placed every 3 days at a quantity of 278.24 kg and a total cost of Rp 9,705,474, with a service level of 75%. Chicken also achieves optimal results with an order interval of every 3 days at 109.05 kg and a total cost of Rp 1,481,784 with an 80% service level. For sago flour, optimal inventory performance is achieved with orders every 6 days totaling 152.58 kg at a cost of Rp 946,617 and a service level of 76%. Meanwhile, tapioca flour reaches its optimal point with orders every 6 days amounting to 76.02 kg, a total cost of Rp 200,186, and an 81% service level. Overall, the application of the probabilistic P Model Back Order has proven to produce an efficient and measurable inventory system that supports the smooth production process of pentol frozen products at UD XYZ.
