Abstract

One of the impacts of PLTU development is air pollution. The study aims to analyze the average and identify changes in air quality in 2013 (before the power plant operates) and 2020 (after the power plant operates) in Bungus Teluk Kabung District by descriptive quantitative.analysis. Changes in air quality were analyzed by Landsat 8 satellite images in 2013 and 2020 with parameters were PM10, SO2 and NOx.The average value of the parameter is calculated based on the air quality algorithm, and to measure changes in air quality standards apply ISPU. The results showed an average improvement in all air quality parameters. Based on the ISPU distribution of PM10 values increased by 1 μg/m³, in 2013 the average value (1.9 μg/m³), in 2020 it became (2.9 μg/m³), included in the good category. SO2 values in the medium category with an increase of 0.7 ρρm, in 2013 (63.3 ρρm) and in 2020 (64 ρρm). NOx is in the unhealthy category with an increase of 0.1 μg/m³, in 2013 (173.5 μg/m³) and in 2020 (173.6 μg/m³). The results of the wilcoxon difference test showed that all air quality parameters had a significant value of < 0.05, meaning that there was a significant difference in air quality before and after the power plant was built. The PLTU is expected to immediately minimize the smoke produced by burning coal using Clean Coal Technology.

Abstract

Changes oh land use from forest into plantations is one of the causes of increased CO2 emissions. The rapid increase in the area of oil palm plantations and the reduction in forest area in West Pasaman Regency will increase greenhouse gas emissions which have a negative impact on the preservation of the earth and its contents. The aims of this study were: to analyze land use changes of forest and oil palm plantations in 1996-2021 and to calculate the total amount of CO2 absorption and emissions caused by changes in forest land use and oil palm plantations in West Pasaman Regency. The research method used is a remote sensing method with the NDVI (normalized difference vegetation index) algorithm for Landsat satellite images. The results showed that there had been a significant change in land use, forest land had decreased by 47,396.39 ha and oil palm land had increased by 105,115.86 ha. Total emissions from changes in forest and oil palm land use are 1,009,411.6 tonnes/ha/year. It is recommended that the Government of West Pasaman Regency need to make a policy to prevent the conversion of forest land into oil palm plantation land. Changes in the use of forest land into plantations is one of the causes of increased CO2 emissions.

Abstract

Many built-up areas will occur in the near future causing development growth to develop rapidly. So that it is necessary to analyze the needs of public and private green open space in the District of North Padang. The purpose of this study was to determine the distribution of public and private green open space in the District of North Padang and to analyze the great need for public and private green open space in the district of North Padang. Using quantitative descriptive research methods and remote sensing in the form of CSRT data. The results of this study indicate that the area of public green open space in North Padang District is 37,941 ha. Meanwhile, the area of private green open space in North Padang District is 94,394 ha. The distribution of public and private green open space in Padang Utara District is evenly distributed. The need for green open space in North Padang District is 161.6 ha of public green open space and 80.5 ha of private green open space from the total area of North Padang District. For the government and the people of North Padang District, if they want to add green open space, it is best to close the shortage of public green open space of around 109,765 ha. In this way, the problem of public green open space has found a solution to complement the previous deficiencies, and public green open space has complied with Minister of Public Works Regulation No.05/PRT/M/2008.
