Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membedah 5 komik strip karya Irfan Arifin yang bertema komik kampus. Masing-masing komik strip dianalisis dengan pisau analisis semiotika Charles Sanders Peirce yakni relasi Tryadic dengan teori trikotomi (R-O-I) yang terdiri dari Representament (Qualisign, Sinsign, Legisign), Object (Icon, Index, Symbol), dan Interpretant (Rhema, Dicent, Argument). Kesembilan jenis tanda dalam trikotomi ini fokus mengidentifikasi, mengurai, dan menemukan tanda, kemudian tanda ditafsirkan dan dimaknai melalui proses berpikir yang disebut semiosis. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa tanda-tanda yang dipasang oleh komikus dalam kelima komik strip yang diteliti ialah berupa gambar yang terdiri dari gaya bahasa tubuh, ekspresi wajah, benda-benda dan warna. Adapun tanda yang terkandung dalam teks ialah berupa kalimat seruan, ungkapan, pertanyaan, jawaban, dan bunyi huruf. Semua tanda yang telah ditafsirkan merujuk pada makna yang bersifat sindiran dan mengandung pesan edukasi. Hal ini ditujukan kepada mahasiswa dan disajikan dalam balutan humor.Kata kunci: Semiotika, komik strip, tanda, makna, dan sindiran.

Abstract

This study aims to explain the type of non-sacral carving motifs, the reasons behind the making of nonsacral motifs, and public opinion about the nonsakral motif on Toraja wood carving. Source of data from artifacts in the form of non-sacred decorative motifs of Toraja carving; (2) human data sources, namely engravers, community leaders, local government officials, art educators, and cultural observers; and (3) documents containing descriptions, drawings, or photographs of non-sacred motifs of Toraja carving. Data collection techniques are observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis uses an interactive analysis model. The results showed that: (1) Types of motifs displayed in non-sacred carving in Toraja themed, Toraja natural scenery, Aluk Todolo ritual procession, daily activities of Toraja people, summaries of various scenes, and masks. (2) Reasons for making non-sacred carvings in Toraja, namely: (a) introducing Toraja nature and culture, (b) as souvenirs for tourists visiting Toraja, (c) for developing Toraja carving, and (d) expressing condolences in particular on the theme of the funeral procession. (3) Community opinion on non-sacred carvings in Toraja, namely (a) is a reflection of the carver's dynamics in responding to community needs, (b) according to the development era, and (c) potential non-sacred carving motifs in Toraja to be developed further. The most suitable Toraja carving art is taught traditional Toraja decorative motifs to preserve and pass on Toraja local culture to the younger generation

Abstract

This study aims to develop a Local Content teaching material based on local art. This study follows the procedure for developing the Richey Model Instructional System Design which consists of 6 stages. But in this study only reached stage 4. Development of teaching materials begins with needs analysis. From the needs analysis, it is designed local content learning materials based on local art which contain subject matter, learning objectives, and evaluation tools for learning outcomes equipped with assessment indicators. The initial design of Local Content teaching materials based on local art was validated and validated by material experts and the graphics of competent lecturers. In addition to the validation of the lecturers, several Cultural Arts teachers also provided input on the teaching materials that had been developed. Suggestions for material content validators are language adjustment with target users, enriching material, and clarifying images. While the general correction is typing errors. Suggestions and corrections from the validator are then analyzed by researchers to improve teaching materials developed. After the design of teaching materials is improved based on input from the validator, the local art-based local content teaching materials developed have been considered valid and ready to be tested in the field.
