Abstract

The elderly experience decreased of muscle strength and balance which can lead to falls. Falls can be fatal and lead to death. So far, health programs have only focused on non-communicable diseases, so it is necessary to implement a program to prevent elderly from falls. GELASE exercise is an elderly physical exercise program that involves the lower limbs to improve its strength and balance. This program consisted of health education sessions, sharing sessions, exercises, and role play which were attended by five cadres and one community health centres nurse. The targets were given pre and post-program questionnaires and an evaluation form was carried out. It was known that all targets experienced an increase in knowledge and ability about the risk of falling and the GELASE exercise. It is important for the cadres to apply GELASE exercises regularly to the elderly group in their area.

Abstract

Seks dapat dijadikan indikator penuaan, oleh karena seks melibatkan kerja hormon dan sistem kardiovaskuler. Penuaan pada sistem kardiovaskular dan hormon menyebabkan penurunan ataupun disfungsi seksual pada lansia. Latihan fisik SEPUCHI merupakan rangkaian gerakan kombinasi tai chi dan kegel yang diharapkan mampu memberikan manfaat ganda kepada lansia. Gerakan kegel mampu meningkatkan gairah seksual serta gerakan tai chi mampu menurunkan tekanan darah. Tujuan penelitian adalah menganalisis pengaruh latihan fisik SEPUCHI terhadap aktivitas seksual lansia. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah pre eksperimen one group pre test post test dengan teknik purposive sampling pada 50 responden yang sesuai dengan kriteria eligibilitas. Hasil uji Wilcoxon Signed Rank menemukan ada pengaruh latihan fisik SEPUCHI terhadap aktivitas seksual sebelum dan sesudah diberikan latihan fisik SEPUCHI (p= 0,001). Saran kepada lansia untuk dapat mengaplikasikan latihan fisik SEPUCHI secara rutin, serta kepada petugas kesehatan dapat menerapkan latihan fisik SEPUCHI ke dalam program layanan kesehatan lansia.
