Abstract

Different languages have different phonetic systems, this is the distinguishing feature of a foreign learner in learning a second language. This paper describes the phonological errors of Vietnamese students after surveying Indonesian by recording pronunciation based on the distribution of phonemes to several students from The Open University. The data was then reduced based on the consistency of students' pronunciation errors in the three participants. Every word that was successfully pronounced correctly by the three participants was considered to have been represented and was able to be pronounced by Vietnamese students. Data reduction is based on the possibility of errors that occur continuously in Indonesian foreign speakers. The results showed that students had pronunciation errors, especially the phonemes /sy/ and /r/. Based on the Vietnamese phonetic system, the author observes that students can improve their Indonesian language skills through practice with several applications on the Internet, for example, the writing application of phonetics.glideapp.io

Abstract

ABSTRAK: Soal cerita matematika merupakan salah satu tipe soal yang digunakan untuk melatih kemampuan berhitung siswa  dan membaca pemahaman. Namun banyak kesalahan dalam penulisan soal cerita matematika sehingga soal membingungkan dan tidak mudah dipahami, yang biasanya disebabkan oleh adanya kata yang berlebih. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif, data dianalisis dengan mendeskripsikan ketidakefektifan kalimat. Sumber data merupakan soal cerita matematika yang terdapat dalam soal Try out SMK tahun ajaran 2020-2021. Hasil penelitian ini memperlihatkan bahwa, 1. Ketidakefektifan kalimat disebabkan  karena adanya penggunaan kata yang berlebihan atau pemborosan kata. 2. Ketidakefektifan kalimat yang menyebabkan ambiguitas atau bermakna ganda. KATA KUNCI: Soal Cerita; Matematika; kalimat Efektif; Ambiguitas   ANALYSIS OF EFFECTIVE SENTENCES ON STORY QUESTIONS IN THE FIELD OF MATHEMATICS STUDY IN VOCATIONAL SCHOOL   ABSTRACT: Mathematical story questions are one type of problem that is used to train students' numeracy skills and reading comprehension. However, there are many mistakes in writing math story problems so that the problems are confusing and not easy to understand, which is usually caused by the presence of excess words. This study used a descriptive method, the data were analyzed by describing the ineffectiveness of the sentence. The data source is a math story problem contained in the Vocational High School try out questions for the 2020-2021 school year. The results of this study indicate that, 1. The ineffectiveness of sentences is caused by excessive use of words or waste of words. 2. Ineffective sentences that cause ambiguity or have multiple meanings.
