Abstract

Abstract The need for mass transportation urges the government of Jakarta to build a monorail system. Monorail will increase the capacity of  public transportation system and give a new color to the urban transportation services. Users will have an additional mode choice and then make their preferences. User’s behaviour when choosing mode can be modeled using Stated Preference data. By using Stated Preference, monorail can be compared objectively to existing modes, namely private car, AC bus, non-AC bus, and busway using specific service attributes. Attributes used in this study are journey time, fare, frequency of departure, delay, and walking time to station. Stated Preference data were obtained from a survey to prospective passengers in the service area of the Green Line monorail corridor. Binary logit models were employed to model mode choices and the utility function was in a linear form. Calibration was done by multiple linear regression. Four mode choice models were then obtained, namely monorail versus private car model, monorail versus AC bus model, monorail versus non-AC bus model and monorail versus busway model. Keywords:  monorail, mode choice, service attribute, Stated Preference (SP)

Abstract

The initiation of returning to the gold standard in the United States economy has been carried out by Congressman Alexander Mooney who represents West Virginia. The Bills intend to define the fixed exchange rates of the dollar as the total weight of gold in a country. The concept of theory Neo-Classical Realism was used to lead to the various aspects of background both internal and external to study the establishment of the bills. Congressman Mooney believed that the bills will be a solution to deal with inflationary conditions, the growth of national debt, and the instability of the ongoing monetary system. However, the bills seem to be also an affirmation from the United States in the international economy and maybe hamper the rise of the BRICS organization which currently gathering its strength in the world.

Abstract

This study aims to assess the level of damage from histopathology of seminiferous tubules of testicular organs of albino rats affected by exposure to e-cigarette vapor. The 20 albino rats used were divided into 5 groups, which are the control group (C) not given exposure to e-cigarette vapor and the treatment group given exposure to e-cigarette vapor at different doses. Treatment groups T1 (0.3 mg/ml), T2 (3 mg/ml), T3 (12 mg/ml), T4 (36 mg/ml). All treatment groups were given perinhaled and the treatment was carried out for 14 days. At the end of treatment, albino rats were euthanized and then necropsied and testicular organs were preserved to make histopathological preparations using Hematoxilin-Eosin staining. The results of the histopathological picture of the seminiferous tubules of the testes were observed at 400x magnification and the thickness of the epithelium and the diameter of the seminiferous tubules. The results showed a significant change in the thickness of the seminiferous tubule epithelium in each treatment which decreased, but there was no significant change in the diameter of the seminiferous tubules. This study states that exposure to e-cigarette vapor in rats can cause a decrease in spermatogenesis.
