Abstract

Background : One of the risk factors that affect the menstrual cycle is physical activity. Physical activity with high intensity will cause hypothalamic dysfunction so that gonadotropin releasing hormone secretion is disturbed. Low-intensity physical activity will cause menstrual cycle irregularities by affecting the oxidative energy needed in the reproductive process. Aim: to observe correlation between physical activities and menstrual cycle in adolescent girl. Cross Sectional method is used for this research. The research population is adolescent girls in Nursing study program of Medical School, University of Sam Ratulangi Manado, with the total samples are 107 teenagers selected by proportionate stratified random sampling. Data was collected using a questionnaire and data analysis techniques using the Spearman test. The results of this study found that there was no relationship between physical activities and menstrual cycle, with p-value 0,471. The conclusion that discovered form this research is that there is no correlation between physical activities and menstrual cycle. PSIK students who experience abnormal menstrual cycles are expected to pay attention to other influencing factors such as weight / BMI, stress levels, energy sufficiency, nutritious diet to meet the adequacy of magnesium, iron, and calcium.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has caused many restrictions on almost all routine services, including restrictions on maternal and neonatal health services. Health literacy is an individual's ability to access, understand, and use information to improve health. Preparation for childbirth is a form of preparation and maintenance of pregnancy, the birth of a baby and the care of a healthy newborn to ensure an increase in welfare. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between the health literacy of pregnant women and preparation for childbirth during the Covid-19 pandemic at the Tuminting Health Center in Manado City. Methods: This study uses a descriptive correlation type of research, with a cross sectional study approach. The sample in this study was 50 respondents. The instrument used is a questionnaire. The results of this study indicate that the health literacy of pregnant women at the Tuminting Health Center is in a high literacy level with preparation for childbirth in the ready category there are 24 people (80.0%) of a total of 50 respondents and there is low health literacy with preparation for delivery in the unprepared category as many as 10. people (59.0%) out of 50 respondents. Statistical test showed p value = 0.026. The conclusion is that there is a relationship between the health literacy of pregnant women and preparation for delivery at the Tuminting Health Center in Manado City
