AbstrakTelah dilakukan uji aktivitas antidiare ekstrak etanol biji teratai putih (Nymphaea pubescens Willd) terhadap mencit putih jantan galur swiss webster dengan metode transit intestinal. Dari hasil karakterisasi simplisia biji teratai putih diperoleh kadar abu total (3,83%), kadar abu tidak larut asam (2,90%), kadar abu larut air (0,80%), susut pengeringan (9,42%), kadar sari larut etanol (3,86%), kadar sari larut air (20,48%), dan kadar air (9,99%). Hasil skrining fitokimia menunjukkan adanya senyawa alkaloid, fenolat, tanin, flavonoid, monoterpen & seskuiterpen, steroid & triterpenoid, kuinon, serta saponin. Hasil pengukuran panjang marker terhadap panjang usus (rasio) setelah t = 65 menit menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak etanol biji teratai putih memiliki aktivitas antidiare pada variasi dosis yaitu dosis 0,52 mg/20 g BB; 0,585 mg/20 g BB; 0,65 mg/20 g BB; 0,715 mg/20 g BB dan 0,78 mg/20 g BB. Kesimpulan, semakin besar dosis ekstrak etanol biji teratai putih menghasilkan aktivitas antidiare yang semakin kuat. Kata Kunci: Biji teratai putih, Antidiare, Metode transit intestinal. AbstractAnti-diarrheal activity of ethanol extract of the white lotus seeds (Nymphaea pubescens Willd) has been tested on swiss webster mice by using intestinal transit method. From the characterization of white lotus simplicia showed that total ash content of 3.83 %, acid insoluble ash content 2.90 %, water soluble ash content 0.80 %, drying shrinkage 9.42 %, levels of ethanol soluble extract 3.86 % , the levels of water -soluble extract 20.48%, and water content of 9.99 %. The results of the phytochemical screening showed the presence of alkaloid, phenolic, tannin, flavonoid, monoterpene and sesquiterpen, steroid and triterpenoid, quinone, and saponin. The measurement the length of the marker on intestinal length (rasio) after 65 minutes showed that the ethanol extract of the white lotus seeds have antidiarrheal activity at variaous dose of 0.52 mg/20 g BW; 0,585 mg/20 g BW, 0.65 mg/20 g BW; 0.715 mg/20 g BW, and 0.78 mg/20 g BW.
