<![CDATA[Acupuncture is a simple and effective complementary therapy. This study aims to determine the use of acupuncture therapy to treat hypertension. This study is a literature review using the Proquest, Sciencedirect, Pubmed, Taylor&Francis, and Google Scholar databases. The keywords used were "acupuncture", "hypertension", "high blood pressure", "complementary therapy". The collected articles were processed manually and extracted into tables, then analyzed descriptively. There were 10 articles which showed that acupuncture significantly had an effect on reducing hypertension. The benefits of acupuncture are reducing headaches, maintaining body balance such as reducing stress and tension, and can increase the body's immunity against other diseases. It was concluded that acupuncture therapy could be a complementary therapy option in reducing hypertension.Keywords: acupuncture; hypertension; complementary therapy ABSTRAK Akupuntur merupakan salah satu terapi komplementer yang sederhana dan efektif. Studi ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pemanfaataan terapi akupuntur untuk mengatasi hipertensi. Studi ini merupakan literatur review menggunakan database Proquest, Sciencedirect, Pubmed, Taylor&Francis, dan Google Scholar. Kata kunci yang digunakan adalah “acupuncture”, “hypertension”, “high blood pressure”, “complementary therapy”. Artikel yang terkumpul diolah secara manual dan diekstrak ke dalam tabel, lalu dianalisis secara deskriptif. Didapatkan 10 artikel yang menunjukkan bahwa akupuntur secara signifikan memiliki efek dalam menurunkan hipertensi. Manfaat akupuntur adalah mengurangi nyeri kepala, memelihara keseimbangan tubuh seperti mengurangi stress dan ketegangan, serta dapat meningkatkan kekebalan tubuh terhadap penyakit lainnya. Disimpulkan bahwa terapi akupuntur dapat menjadi salah satu pilihan terapi komplementer dalam menurunkan hipertensi.Kata kunci: akupuntur; hipertensi; terapi komplementer]]>
