Abstract

Two important problems related to food consumption were reported in Malaysia: Malaysia was the sixth rank in Asia for the highest adult obesity rate; and the United Nation reported that Malaysian consumed an average of 2,910 calories per day. An imbalanced diet and high intake of calorie-dense food problems that need attention to reduce obesity. These problems affect national economies by lowering productivity, increasing disability, raising health care expenses, and shortening life spans. Although, there are food calorie tracking applications available, however, existing apps are less engaging and to recognize Malaysian food due to its not versatile databases. This can be solved using game technologies. Hence, this study will propose mobile game model as a solution to the underlying problems. There are 4 phases in the method: expert validation, initial model, expert verification, and final model. The proposed parameters were validated by dietitians, and nutritionists. The model was verified by game experts. A low fidelity prototype was developed based on the proposed model to assist the expert verification process. The model was finalized based on the expert’s feedback. The proposed game model resolves the limited recognition of Malaysian food and monitoring the food calories intake in an engaging way.

Abstract

This article discusses the factors that influence public transport users and the driver’s intentions towards ubiquitous features for public transport services. This study used convenience sampling for selecting tourists and a purposive sample to select bus drivers, taxi drivers, and trishaw pullers in Melaka, Malaysia, a popular tourist destination. The users' dataset contains three main results: factors influencing users' use of public transportation services, levels of user satisfaction with existing public transportation services, and elements influencing how often people choose to use the suggested ubiquitous features for public transportation services. The drivers' dataset, on the other hand, is divided into two primary sections: variables influencing drivers in delivering public transportation services and factors influencing drivers' adoption of the suggested ubiquitous features for public transportation services. The analysis included descriptive statistics on factors influencing users and drivers in using public transportation services, levels of user satisfaction with existing public transportation services, and factors influencing users' and drivers' adoption of proposed ubiquitous features for public transportation services. The findings can be used to investigate the demand for on-time delivery from public transport services.

Abstract

Efficient public transportation is important for tourism cities like Melaka, Malaysia, where fragmented services and limited real-time information reduce user satisfaction and contribute to congestion. Existing transport applications often focus on a single mode and provide limited tourist-oriented functions. This study designed and implemented myGPT, a mobile application that integrates bus, taxi, and trishaw services into a unified platform with real-time information, cashless payment, and social interaction features. Using a design, development, and research (DDR) approach, user requirements were identified through a literature review and surveys, followed by system design, prototype development, and pilot testing. The myGPT framework includes modules for multimodal service discovery and trip planning, GPS-based nearby vehicle visibility, QR-code payment, and in-app communication and feedback. Pilot implementation results indicate improved trip coordination, usability, and user trust. The findings suggest that combining multimodal integration, real-time tracking, payments, and social features can support smarter tourist mobility and encourage sustainable urban transport in heritage cities.
