Abstract

Abstract. The National Examination in Indonesia has been abolished since 2020. Hence, the Indonesian Junior High School (SMP) makes its final examination items for the 9th-grade, and from the results, the school determines success in the course. The final examination has an important role and significant value in making decisions about students' graduation. Therefore, this study is aimed to analyze the Online Final Examination items in one of the public junior high schools in Bandung. The sample was 234 students in grade 9 using their mathematics examination tests, comprising 20 multiple-choice items with 4 options (A-D), while the data processing used Winsteps software with the Rasch modeling technique. Subsequently, the Rasch model results showed an acceptable people separation statistic of 1.54 and poor person reliability at 0.7<0.8. The item separation statistics was in a good category at 2.21, while the reliability at 0.83 was excellent. Although 4 online final examination items were in the fit category, 16 were good and capable of dividing students according to their abilities. They also provided very detailed data about the quality of the items and the ability of each grade 9 student. Since each test item is included in the fit category, this study contributes information on preparing and analyzing the Online Final Examination to teachers.

Abstract

Mathematical creative thinking ability is essential to be mastered by students to create good learning results and achievement. To install creative thinking in students' minds, they are highly requested to apply an innovative learning model. Among innovative learning models, project-activity-cooperative learning-exercise (PACE) is the one to be considered suitable for improving the students' mathematical creative thinking. This study is an experimental research using a pretest-posttest control group design. It was conducted in three classes of IKIP Siliwangi students by applying different learning models. The first class was given the PACE model treatment with Geogebra, the second class was given the PACE model treatment, and the third class was given direct learning. The instrument used tests. Based on the data analysis, we can conclude that there are differences in improving creative thinking abilities among the students who get the PACE model learning with Geogebra (PACE-G), the PACE model, and direct learning (DL). The improvement of creative students who get PACE and PACE-G models is better than those who get DL. The progress of students' mathematical creative thinking abilities obtained from PACE and PACE-G models is a high category. In contrast, improving students' creative thinking abilities who acquire DL is categorized as a medium.

Abstract

Abstract Plastic waste problems in school environments require an educational approach that not only fosters environmental awareness but also develops financial literacy from an early age. This community service program aimed to provide students with an initial understanding of plastic waste management and its economic value, introduce the concept of waste-based savings, and describe students’ responses to the ATM EcoSmart Kidz-based Green and Financially Smart School Movement. The program was conducted at SD Negeri Utama 6 Cimahi through four stages: coordination and identification of partner needs, preparation, socialization, and initial evaluation and follow-up planning. Approximately 120 students in Grades I–V participated in interactive presentations, educational videos, games, question-and-answer activities, and conceptual simulations. Following the activity, 15 students in Grades III–V completed an evaluation questionnaire consisting of 12 closed-ended statements and two open-ended questions. The data were analyzed using quantitative and qualitative descriptive methods. The results showed that 98.89% of all responses were “Yes,” 1.11% were “Undecided,” and no “No” responses were recorded. The open-ended responses indicated that students were able to restate key messages related to waste sorting and utilization, waste-based savings, and intended actions to protect the environment, develop saving habits, and involve friends and family. The activity generated positive initial acceptance and provided a foundation for the further development and sustainable implementation of ATM EcoSmart Kidz. Further evaluation is required to examine changes in students’ knowledge, waste-management practices, and financial literacy after the media is implemented. Keywords: ATM EcoSmart Kidz; elementary school; environmental education; financial literacy; plastic waste.
