Abstract

Company X is a company engaged in the furniture sector. The company has been established since 2003. Company X has a problem, which is that it is still unable to design new product specifications and determine which current products need to be produced again using past demand data. This causes high RnD (Research and Development) cost losses. These costs include drafting costs, costs for making frame molds, fabrics, foam, and prototype costs. With the application of BI to company X, the specifications of the sofa can be found out according to the interests and needs of consumers. The data used in this study are sales from January 1, 2021 to June 30, 2022. The method used to conduct this research is the decision tree version ID3 and C4.5. After being tested using cross-validation 10 times, the results of the accuracy show that the C4.5 version of the decision tree is more accurate than the ID3 version. The results of this study are to determine the sofa specifications that customers are interested in based on price segmentation. Categories based on price are divided into 3, namely PR3, PR2, and PR1. There are 6 significant sofa specifications in PR2. There are 3 significant sofa specifications in the PR3.

Abstract

PT X is a company that is engaged in the gold jewelry industry. The problem found in the company is that the jig management system currently used by the company for the maintenance and repair process is not working well because the current system can be said to be ineffective. The problem causes many damaged jigs that require repair but are not immediately repaired because the current system is complicated for companies to detect damaged jigs. If the damaged jig is still used, it will cause the goods to be worked on to become defective and have to undergo a re-process. The number of technicians on duty is also limited so it requires a structured system so that technicians can make the best use of time in performing maintenance or repairing Jigs. So improvements are proposed in the form of methods to overcome the shortcomings or gaps of the current system. The methods will be related to automation to reduce errors from intentional or unintentional workers. Furthermore, a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) is also made regarding the methods used by technicians in the Jig maintenance or repair process.

Abstract

PT. Hartono Istana Teknologi is a company that produces electronic goods and home appliances, one of which is a washing machine. Manufacturing of washing machines is done by way of assembly. The analysis aims to identify waste that exist in the production process, which will be carried out by eliminating waste and balancing the production line so that the distribution of workload can be evenly distributed and increase the line efficiency as well as operator productivity. The method used is 7 wastes method and also line balancing using the Killbridge Wester method. In knowing the balance of the line, it can be done by calculating the line efficiency, balance delay, smoothness index and total of idle time. The proposed improvements are obtained by reducing the waste of waiting and waste of motion that caused by the uneven distribution of workloads and the layout of material placement that are far from the operator's reach. From the results of this proposed improvement, the line efficiency increase from 84% to 90%, increase productivity by 2%, reduce balance delay from 16% to 10% and idle time from 22.9 seconds to 14.6 seconds.
