Abstract

Financial threats are defined as fearful uncertainties regarding current and future financial situations. The purpose of this research is to test the theoretical model of the relationship between financial threats to psychological distress and individual willingness to change their financial behavior. Consistent across samples, SEM-PLS modeling revealed that the data fit the model and supported all four hypotheses. Positive financial threat with willingness to change, job search, and psychological stress. The practical implications of the findings are discussed.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) on the financial performance of mining companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. Financial performance is proxied by Return on Assets (ROA), while ESG is measured through three dimensions: Environmental, Social, and Governance. This research uses a quantitative approach with secondary data obtained from annual reports, sustainability reports, the Indonesia Stock Exchange, and ESG scores from BGK Foundation. The population consists of mining companies listed on the IDX, while the sample was selected using purposive sampling, resulting in 8 companies and 48 observations during 2018-2023. The analytical technique employed is panel data regression using the Fixed Effect Model with clustered standard errors. The results show that Environmental, Social, and Governance have no significant partial effect on ROA. However, the three ESG dimensions simultaneously have a significant effect on ROA. These findings indicate that ESG is more relevant when understood as an integrated strategy rather than as separate policies in explaining the financial performance of mining companies.

Abstract

The manufacturing sector in Indonesia faced significant financial performance fluctuations during the 2016-2024 period, driven by global economic changes and the COVID-19 pandemic. This study aims to analyze the dynamic effects of liquidity, leverage, and activity on the financial performance (Return on Assets) of manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange, utilizing firm size and interest rates as control variables. Using a quantitative approach with panel data regression (Fixed Effect Model), the study analyzed 109 companies selected through purposive sampling over three distinct periods: pre-pandemic, during the pandemic, and post-pandemic. The results indicate that leverage consistently exhibits a significant negative effect on financial performance across all periods and firm sizes. Activity shows a significant positive effect, particularly for large firms during the pandemic. Meanwhile, liquidity generally has no significant effect, though its impact varies dynamically depending on firm size during the crisis. These findings imply that the determinants of financial performance are highly contextual. Practically, management must maintain an optimal capital structure and enhance asset utilization efficiency to sustain profitability amidst macroeconomic uncertainties.

Abstract

Students at the Thai Global Business Administration Technological College (TGBC) face limitations in identifying and developing business ideas relevant to market needs. This Community Service Program (PKM) aimed to equip students with practical skills in designing a creative and sustainable Business Model Canvas (BMC). The method used was interactive training, including lectures, discussions, simulations, and practical exercises. Evaluation was conducted using pre-test and post-test instruments. Results show that more than 85% of participants improved their understanding of creative and sustainable business management and felt more confident and motivated to apply BMC. Therefore, this PKM program effectively enhanced TGBC students’ entrepreneurial capacity while supporting the development of a sustainability-oriented business ecosystem. hai Global Business Administration Technological College (TGBC) face limitations in identifying and developing business ideas relevant to market needs. Abstract

This study examines the determinants of spending behavior among recipients of the Kartu Indonesia Pintar Kuliah (KIP-K), a need-based scholarship program in Indonesia. While financial aid programs are designed to improve access to higher education, limited attention has been given to how students allocate financial assistance under conditions of budget constraint. Drawing on the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB), this study develops an integrated model that incorporates cognitive (financial literacy), self-regulatory (delayed gratification), and social (peer influence and lifestyle) determinants to explain students' spending behavior. A quantitative cross-sectional survey was conducted involving 394 active KIP-K recipients from various universities in Indonesia. Data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). The results indicate that financial literacy and delayed gratification positively and significantly influence responsible spending behavior, with delayed gratification emerging as the strongest predictor. In contrast, peer influence and lifestyle do not significantly affect spending behavior. The model explains a substantial proportion of the variance in students' spending behavior, indicating moderate predictive power. These findings suggest that internal self-regulatory capacity plays a more dominant role than social pressures or lifestyle preferences in shaping financial decisions among students facing financial constraints. This study contributes to the literature by repositioning spending behavior as a resource allocation behavior under budget constraints and by extending the Theory of Planned Behavior to the context of need-based scholarship recipients. The findings also provide policy implications for improving the effectiveness of student financial aid programs through financial literacy and self-regulation interventions.

Abstract

This study investigates the positive role of workplace romance in enhancing job performance among Millennial and Generation Z employees across multi-organizational settings in Indonesia. Using a quantitative approach with 370 respondents who have experienced workplace romance, the research tests a mediation model where workplace happiness and fun at work serve as affective mechanisms linking romance to performance. The findings reveal that, when consensual and well-managed, romantic relationships at work can foster emotional support, engagement, and stronger social bonds, leading to improved job outcomes. The study’s novelty lies in reframing workplace romance—not as a risk factor—but as a potential emotional and motivational resource, particularly within collectivist cultures and younger generational cohorts. It is among the first to empirically demonstrate the dual mediating roles of workplace happiness and fun at work, contributing to both Affective Events Theory and the Broaden-and-Build Theory of Positive Emotions. The study offers theoretical insights and practical implications for organizations navigating relational dynamics in Indonesia’s rapidly evolving workforce.
