Abstract

The purpose of this study is to increase the motivation of chemistry learning with the application of Problem Based Learning model, so it can improve the student’s achievement in chemistry. This study is a classroom action research with subjects of class XI IPA 8 students at SMA N 1 Bantul in the first semester of 2016/2017 academic year. The subject were 34 students that consists of 14 boys and 20 girls. The data collection was done by using daily journal observation sheets, student questionnaire, interviews, documentation and testing. Descriptive data were analyzed qualitatively through severel stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The results of the study is that model Problem Based learning can improve motivation and learning achievement at equilibrum chemical concept. To Increase The Result of Student’s Learning Equilibrum Chemical Concept Via PBL’s Learning Model (Problem Based learning) the average of the student study result in the first cycle is 77,70, the second is 86,90. The second cycle showed 94.11% met the criteria studied thoroughly with the value of more than or equal to 75 of more than 85%. In conclusion, the use of model Problem Based Learning can improve motivation and learning achievements of learners and teachers can develop and implement the model of learning in the classroom.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan investigasi dan sikap ilmiah siswa kelas XI IPA 5 SMAN 1 Bantul tahun pelajaran 2019/2020 melalui penerapan pembelajaran problem based learning (PBL). Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK). Prosedur penelitian yang digunakan adalah model yang dikembangkan oleh Kemis dan Taggart yang terdiri dari kegiatan perencanaan, tindakan, pengamatan, dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI IPA 5 SMAN 1 Bantul tahun pelajaran 2019/2020 yang berjumlah 32 siswa. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dalam 2 siklus. Setiap siklus terdiri dari 2 kali pertemuan. Data penelitian didapat dari hasil observasi dan wawancara. Analisis data menggunakan teknik analisis deskriptif. Keterlaksanaan pembelajaran problem based learning pada siklus I sebesar 80.5% dan pada siklus II sebesar 86%. Berdasarkan hasil observasi, Nilai kemampuan investigasi siswa pada siklus I sebesar 69,41 dengan kriteria kurang mengalami peningkatan pada siklus II menjadi 85,06 dengan kriteria baik. Sikap ilmiah siswa juga mengalami peningkatan dari 73.57 termasuk kategori cukup pada siklus I menjadi 86,74 termasuk dalam kategori baik baik pada siklus II. Dari hasil penelitian secara keseluruhan, proses pembelajaran dengan model problem based learning dapat meningkatkan kemampuan investigasi dan sikap ilmiah siswa.

Abstract

This research is a classroom action research that aims to determine the application of the Contextual Teaching Learning (CTL) learning model in improving students' motivation and learning outcomes in electrolyte and non-electrolyte solution materials . This research is divided into two cycles consisting of planning, action, observation and reflection stages. The research data collection techniques are as follows: initial observations, observations of teacher activities, questionnaires for student motivation and responses. The data analysis technique is qualitative. The results of the study describe an increasing in student motivation and learning outcomes. Teacher activities were carried out well from 83% (good) to 86.7% (very good). Student motivation has increased from 83% to 86% high motivation. Student learning outcomes increased from 69.4% to 89% (completed). The conclusion of this study describes that the application of the Contextual Teaching Learning (CTL) learning model can increase the motivation and learning outcomes of students in class X IPA 5 at SMA N 1 Bantul effectively.
