Abstract

The purpose of this study was to explore the results of the analysis of literature studies on the role of technology in the advancement of education in the interior of West Kalimantan, Indonesia. Several interesting themes were studied and found, namely around information and communication technology, information technology in education, the role of information technology for the advancement of education in the interior of West Kalimantan. The results of the study also found that almost all fields of work require technology, including education. The use of information technology in the education process in general includes: information system management (MIS), which is an organizational information system that supports management processes; E-learning, Learning Media; and Life Skill Education. In other words, the advancement of education in West Kalimantan was determined by the use of technology and information. With this in mind, education in Indonesia, especially in West Kalimantan, can accelerate significantly, create a more skillful and superior generation, and compete in the global world.   ABSTRAK Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengeksplorasi hasil analisis studi literatur tentang peran teknologi dalam kemajuan pendidikan di daerah pedalaman Kalimantan Barat, Indonesia. Beberapa literatur dikaji dan ditemukan beberapa tema menarik, yaitu seputar tentang teknologi informasi dan komunikasi, teknologi informasi dalam pendidikan, peran teknologi informasi untuk kemajuan pendidikan di daerah pedalaman Kalimantan Barat. Dari hasil telaah juga menemukan hampir semua bidang pekerjaan membutuhkan teknologi, termasuk bidang pendidikan. Pemanfaatan teknologi informasi dalam proses pendidikan secara garis besar meliputi: managemen sistem informasi (SIM), merupakan sebuah sistem informasi keorganisasian yang mendukung proses- proses managemen; E-learning, Media Pembelajaran; dan Pendidikan Life Skill.  Dengan kata lain, kemajuan pendidikan di Kalimantan barat ditentukan oleh pemanfaatan teknologi dan informasi. Dengan demikian, pendidikan di Indonesia khususnya di Kalimantan Barat dapat mengalami akselerasi yang signifikan, menciptakan generasi yang lebih terampil dan unggul, berpengetahuan luas, dan siap bersaing di dunia global. Abstract

Since the opening of oil palm plantations in 1980 in West Kalimantan, which since 1982 has been managed under the People’s Nucleus Plantation (PIR-Bun) pattern, slowly but surely changing the mindset of indigenous Dayak people towards jungle forests or ulayat lands. Its influence is increasingly felt in the behavior and social life of the local community. The Dayak community has experienced a change in their “world view” of the forest. Those who have been friendly with nature since ancient times and uphold traditional principles, now in their lives, on the one hand, are leaving their ancestral traditions and following the trend of oil palm plantations, but on the other hand, their lives are increasingly cornered by the existence of oil palm plantations. The permissive attitude and pragmatism of those in power have resulted in a change in the “world view” of the local community. They no longer respect nature or forests as “sacred lands”. Society is also increasingly pragmatic, hedonic and consumptive. Local customs and wisdom in the form of family values, mutual cooperation, loyalty to the community, humility, sincerity, respect for nature and each other are increasingly fading. The jungle forest and “tembawang forest” as customary rights have mostly been just stories.
