Abstract

The increasing number of poor people in Indonesia shows the various multi-dimensional problems of this nation, to reduce or eliminate this necessary disease must be supported by the whole nation. In Islam, one of the efforts to reduce and eradicate poverty is the existence of zakat law which functions as an equal distribution of wealth. The distribution of zakat for the poor is not only to meet consumptive needs but more than that. From here the pattern of giving zakat to mustahiq is not only consumptive, but can also be productive. Utilization of zakat can be carried out by developing eight asnaf, for example zakat for the poor can be used for public facilities, such as free medical centers, free maternity clinics, manufacturing factories that involve them and others. In its application, the amil zakat institution must be careful in distributing this productive zakat, research on zakat recipients and the types of productive businesses should receive more attention. After that, a trustworthy and professional management also contributed to the success of this program.

Abstract

This study, titled Inventory of Productive Economic Business Trends for the Poor, the Challenges Faced, and Solution Efforts, aims to identify the types of productive businesses managed by impoverished communities, understand the main obstacles they face in running these businesses, and propose actionable solutions. The main issue in this research is the low economic productivity among the poor due to various constraints, such as limited capital, market access, skills, and policy support. This research employs a descriptive qualitative method with a survey approach, in-depth interviews, and direct observation of productive business actors in several regions. Collected data is thematically analyzed to identify common patterns in business types, frequently encountered obstacles, and strategic recommendations that the government and relevant agencies can implement to improve economic sustainability. The study’s findings are expected to serve as a reference for designing more targeted and effective economic empowerment programs for the poor.

Abstract

The study’s findings are expected to serve as a reference for designing more targeted and effective economic empowerment programs for the poor. This study aims to examine the mechanism of distributing subsidized 3 kg LPG gas cylinders from the perspective of Islamic economics. The government subsidy for 3 kg LPG gas is intended to alleviate the burden on society, especially low-income groups. However, in practice, the distribution of 3 kg LPG often faces various challenges, such as subsidy misuse, uneven distribution, and price injustices. From the perspective of Islamic economics, principles of justice, balance, and efficiency must be upheld in every aspect of the distribution of goods and services, including subsidized energy. This research uses a descriptive-analytical approach to analyze the distribution policy of subsidized 3 kg LPG in the context of Islamic economic principles, such as social justice, the avoidance of riba (usury), and the provision of quality goods for all levels of society. The findings show that although the 3 kg LPG subsidy aims to improve the welfare of the poor, the current distribution system does not fully align with the principles of Islamic economics. It is recommended that the distribution system be more transparent, efficient, and prioritize justice, ensuring that subsidies are properly targeted and not misused by ineligible parties. This study contributes to providing insights for energy policies that are more just and in line with the values of Islamic economics.
