Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan penelitian tindakan kelas. Subjek penelitian adalah peserta siswa X MIPA 4 SMA Negeri 7 Denpasar 2017/2018 yang berjumlah 36 orang, terdiri atas 15 laki-laki dan 21 perempuan. Siklus penelitian memiliki tahapan diantaranya: perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi, dan refleksi. Hasil penelitiaan menunjukkan nilai rata-rata refleksi awal 63,69, nilai siklus I 71,67, nilai siklus II 79,17. Ini berarti telah ada peningkatan dari prasiklus ke siklus I dan siklus II sebesar 7,50. Begitu juga nilai rata-rata hasil observasi peserta didik pada siklus I nilai rata-rata 69,44 dengan predikat cukup meningkat pada siklus II nilai rata-rata 80,56 dengan predikat tinggi dan jumlah klasikal 34 peserta didik atau 94,44%. Jadi, Penerapan metode drill dapat meningkatkan kemampuan memproduksi teks eksposisi dan respon pada peserta didik kelas. This study uses a class action research design. The research subjects were participants of student X MIPA 4 in SMA Negeri 7 Denpasar 2017/2018, amounting to 36 people, consisting of 15 men and 21 women. The research cycle has stages including: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The results of the research show the value of the initial reflection average of 63.69, the value of the first cycle of 71.67, the value of the second cycle 79.17. This means that there has been an increase from pre-cycle to cycle I and cycle II at 7.50. Likewise, the average value of the observations of students in the first cycle was an average value of 69.44 with a predicate which was quite increased in the second cycle with an average score of 80.56 with a high predicate and a number of classics of 34 students or 94.44%. So, the application of drill methods can improve the ability to produce exposition texts and responses to class students.
