Abstract

Abstract

This research is the first step to find a model for cultivating citrus plants with high yields but not damaging the environment. The habit of citrus farmers to use chemical fertilizers excessively can increase the risk of environmental damage which causes citrus cultivation activities to become unsustainable. This condition requires efforts to minimize the impact, namely by designing a cultivation practice model so that citrus production centers are guaranteed to be sustainable. Sustainability analysis related to cultivation practices applied by farmers is an important indicator to determine the sustainability of citrus production centers in Malang. A multidisciplinary approach is used to evaluate the sustainability of Plantation activities. The study of the sustainability of citrus production in Malang in order to obtain information about the things that underlie environmental and production functions in citrus cultivation has not been carried out in an integrative manner, so the aim of this research is to determine the status of sustainability of citrus cultivation in Malang. Sustainability analysis can be used as a basis for compiling recommendations for the development of orange production centers that are effective and in accordance with the green economy program so that a sustainable citrus cultivation model is obtained. The analytical method used in this study is the Rap method (Rapid apprisal) with the MDS (Multidimensional Scaling) approach in which the results are expressed in the form of an index and sustainability status. The selection of attributes on each dimension is adjusted to the development of Malang oranges. Determination of attributes for each dimension of sustainability includes 46 attributes in 5 dimensions analyzed, including 10 attributes of the ecological dimension, 9 attributes of the economic dimension, 8 social dimensions, and 10 technological dimensions. Each attribute is modified from several previous studies and adapted to real conditions in the field. The sustainability status of Malang orange cultivation as a whole is included in the fairly sustainable category, namely 69.76%. When viewed from each dimension, there is a dimension that is in the best category with a percentage of 77.23%, namely the economic dimension while the other dimensions are quite sustainable with a percentage below 75%.

Abstract

Mangrove Ecotourism Wonorejo Forest (EHMW) is designed by the Surabaya City's government to have some aspects of nature and education to conservation that may help to save the environment and economy, especially through the tourism. some ecologists revealed that the development of tourism in EHMW runs not balanced and not oriented to the principle of sustainability. This study aims to determine the level of sustainability of EHMW management in Surabaya based on analysis of three sustainability criteria. The study was conducted from September to October 2017. We conducted two methods of data collection: interviews and questionnaires. Assessment is grouped into four levels of sustainability status (%): 0.00-25.00 (unsustainable); 25.01-50.00 (less sustainability); 50.01-75.00 (sufficient sustainability); and 75.01-100,00 (continuous). EHMW management goes into sustainable criteria (77.18%). The value of the sustainability of all criteria is still below 50.1%, or less sustainable. Each criteria's value was ecology criteria of 29.38%, on the economic criteria of 28.17% and on the social criteria of 19.63%. Key words : Environment, Mangrove, Social, Sustainable, Wonorejo

Abstract

The agricultural product processing industrial sector, particularly the agro-industry in the food and beverage sector, significantly contributes to Indonesia’s national income. The consumption pattern of the agro-industrial community has changed over the past ten years. Previously, consumers’ preference for purchasing food and beverages was 38.9%, but this reduced to 36.7% in 2018. Due to shifting customer demand trends, this consumption issue is one that the environment outside the organization is to blame for. The supply chain management plan is one of the environmental concerns the organization has considered in its strategy. In the food and beverage agro-industry in Malang City, this study aims to ascertain the impact of ecological factors on supply chain management strategies and the existence of mediating variables, specifically internal factors that have an indirect relationship between external factors and supply chain management strategies. With a path coefficient of 0.212 0.688 and a P-value of <0.001, the WarpPLS SEM analysis method produced results that showed both internal and external factors had an impact on the supply chain management strategy despite internal factors having a more minor effect than external factors. To sustain client loyalty, internal variables must continue to match customer demand when there is an increase in the number of customers. The priority for company improvement is more on the system within the company.

Abstract

Roses have been known as important horticultural industrial commodity. This research was aimed to know the ideal mixture of media and the effective hydration time of rose cuttings in dairy’s urine liquid. This research was conducted in experimental field of Agricultural faculty of UNISMA, using a plastic house. Randomized Complete Design with two factors was used in this experiment and each treatment was replicated three times. The first factor comprised four levels of medias treatment (soil; soil and rice husk; soil and compost; soil+rice husk+compost). The second factor comprised of three levels of hydration time (3 hours, 6 hours, and 9 hours). The result of this research indicated that the combination of soil media and nine hours hydration of cuttings in dairy’s urine give the highest total buds, compared with the other treatments . Six hours hydration treatment gave the best result in cell enlargement and cell division of the buds compared with the other treatments. The combination of soil, rice husk and compost with six hours hydration treatment of dairy’s urine liquid gave the highest total leaves , fresh root, dry root weight, total fresh weight of cuttings and also its total dry weight.
