Abstract

The number of cyber attacks is increasing. This happens thoroughly, both at the international and national levels. Technology, techniques, and methods of carrying out cyber attacks are also increasingly sophisticated and up-to-date. Responding to this phenomenon, this research was conducted to implement an application for detecting and mitigating backdoor-based attacks using Python Watchdog. The method used in this study is the experimental method. This research is a case study of backdoor attacks that have been experienced by Universitas Muhammadiyah Kotabumi. In August – December 2021, one of the servers owned by Universitas Muhammadiyah Kotabumi received a significant backdoor-based attack. This research implements Python Watchdog to detect foreign files that are indicated as a backdoor, then sends notifications. Referring to the notification, the administrator can take further action. Based on the research that has been done, Python Watchdog is proven to overcome backdoor attacks. Once Python Watchdog is enabled, backdoor attacks are no longer possible.

Abstract

Online shop websites are currently increasingly developing, with online shop websites making it easier for buyers and sellers to see the goods being sold anywhere and at any time and sellers can promote the goods they sell to the wider public. The aim of creating this website is to help the Jaya grocery store to be able to check online and manage the stock of basic food items and also avoid several errors that can occur such as errors in inputting quantities and prices. It is hoped that by designing this web-based sales application it can help grocery stores successful in increasing sales and expanding the marketing process in online and offline forms. The process of designing this application uses the prototype method for making this website with the aim that the final process of this design can then be used according to the needs of the Jaya grocery store. Currently we are entering technological progress which is increasing day by day, because this development covers several aspects, even all aspects involving human life. With the development of this technology, this technology is not only used as a communication medium but also to expand the business network of business actors. one of these business actors is the Jaya grocery store, in order to be able to compete healthily in the global world, it needs a tool or something that can be used to reach the market as expected, in this case, namely to improve its business or to increase its sales scope. The purpose of this research is to be able to design an information system for ordering goods online or on a web basis, how to help the Jaya grocery store to increase sales volume and further expand the marketing process in online and offline forms.

Abstract

Village public services often struggle with slow administrative workflows, limited transparency, and unequal access to service information, particularly where processes remain manual and difficult to monitor in real time. This study evaluates a deployed integrated village information system augmented with Internet of Things (IoT) signals—RFID-based operational monitoring and water/electricity facility-status sensing—to assess whether service quality improved after implementation and to clarify the system mechanisms that plausibly explain observed changes. An explanatory sequential mixed-method design was applied. Quantitatively, a paired two-wave pre–post survey was completed by 100 residents (1 = strongly disagree, 5 = strongly agree) to measure Speed/Responsiveness, Accuracy (Information Quality), Ease of Access/Use, and Satisfaction. Qualitatively, in-depth interviews with village staff and residents, supported by field observations, were conducted to interpret quantitative shifts and identify constraints. Paired-sample tests indicated significant increases across all dimensions (p < 0.001) with medium-to-large effects (Cohen’s d_z = 0.58–0.92): Speed/Responsiveness increased from 3.12 to 3.76, Accuracy from 3.30 to 4.05, Ease of Access/Use from 3.15 to 3.70, and Satisfaction from 3.18 to 4.16. The qualitative strand linked these improvements to system-level features, including workflow digitalization with earlier verification and routing, administrative data validation with audit logging and digital archiving, and transparent request-status tracking via dashboards, while highlighting persistent risks related to connectivity reliability, operator capacity, digital inclusion for older residents, and personal-data governance. The contribution of this work is a systems-aware, field-based evaluation that couples an explicit IoT–information-system integration view (architecture, modules, and data lifecycle) with a two-wave paired outcome assessment and stakeholder explanations in a real village governance setting.

Abstract

This community service initiative evaluates the impact of mobile applications, namely Haji Pintar–Satu Haji and Kawal Haji, in enhancing digital literacy and ritual understanding among pilgrims at KBIHU Ahmad Dahlan, Pringsewu. The program was implemented over a one-month period and involved participants engaging in mobile-based tutorials and mentoring activities designed to support comprehensive Hajj preparation. The learning materials focused on improving participants’ understanding of Hajj rituals while simultaneously strengthening their ability to use digital applications effectively. Survey results indicated that nearly all participants had access to Android smartphones, with 41.3% of respondents assessing their digital skills as “very good.” Among the available features, video tutorials were the most frequently accessed, accounting for 34.8% of usage, as they were perceived as clear and easy to understand. The majority of pilgrims reported improved comprehension of Hajj rituals after participating in the program. Despite these positive outcomes, several challenges were identified, including infrequent application usage, accessibility limitations for some users, and participant requests for offline learning content. Overall, the findings demonstrate the significant potential of mobile applications to support Hajj preparation through religious education and digital engagement. The study recommends further development through more inclusive application design, offline accessibility, and sustained digital engagement strategies to enhance the effectiveness of community outreach programs in religious education.

Abstract

The Hajj pilgrimage takes place in a multilingual environment that requires adequate communication skills from pilgrims. Indonesian Hajj pilgrims, particularly middle-aged and elderly individuals, often face language barriers when interacting with service providers and local communities. This community service activity aimed to assess pilgrims’ digital readiness as a foundational step toward the use of technology-based communication support. Conducted in collaboration with KBIHU Ahmad Dahlan Pringsewu, Lampung, the activity involved socialization sessions, hands-on assistance, and questionnaire-based feedback from 46 Hajj pilgrims. The findings indicate that 97.8% of participants reported sufficient to excellent smartphone literacy, reflecting a strong baseline of digital readiness. Nevertheless, communication support remains an unmet need, as 69.6% of participants preferred offline-capable application features. These results suggest that mobile translation tools, such as Google Translate, have strong potential as practical communication aids during Hajj. A follow-up community service program focused on hands-on training in the use of mobile translation tools is therefore recommended.
