Abstract

The research was aimed at analyzing the productivity in novel Alice’s Adventure in Wonderland. Ľhis research employed qualitative research. In analyzing the data, the researcher used theory of Miles and Huberman; data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing/verification. As the result of this research is researcher found three kinds of productivity in novel of Alice Adventure in Wonderland: Productivity in shape, productivity in meaning and semantic blocking. And then found the most dominant productive word class in novel of Alice Adventure in Wonderland. The researcher found 63 adjectives attached by suffix –ly. 4 adjectives attached by suffix –ness, 2 adjectives attached by suffix –ity. Ľhen, 2 adjectives by suffix –ion, by suffix –ment is only one adjective. Ľhere were 7 nouns attached by suffix –ly and 3 verbs attached by suffix verb. Finally, it is conclude that some words can be productive if attached by some suffixes which agree by morphological process. For the suggestion, the researcher hoped learners to mastery productivity word because it helped to develop their vocabulary and added new knowledge. For the English teachers, it is suggested to remind the students about the usage of productivity and as reference in their teaching and learning process.
