Abstract

IPB university is one of the universities that has many innovations, IPB's achievements for 12 years (2008-2019) participating in the 100 plus Indonesian innovation program organized by the Business Innovation Center with support from the Ministry of Research Education, and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia and the Indonesian Institute of Sciences. Higher education is an innovation center that plays a role in the progress of society, providing impact and solutions from the results of research conducted. However, the reality is whether the research carried out provides an effective solution to the community or is just a collection of books that are neatly stored in the library and can only be accessed by certain circles. Quantitative research with correlational survey methods that explain the relationship between variables through hypothesis testing. The results showed that most of the respondents in this study worked as farmers, male gender, productive age, low education and low income. Characteristics that have a real influence on adoption decisions are education, employment and income. The types of innovation and attributes of innovation have a real relationship to the adoption decision and the interpersol communication channel has a real relationship to the innovation adoption decision.

Abstract

Oil palm plantations have always been attached to the issue of ecosystem degradation, both biotic and abiotic. Insects as one of the biotic factors in the ecosystem often have important roles such as pollinating agents and soil improvers. This study explored the effect of distance between oil palm plantations and forests on the diversity of soil surface insects. This study used the pitfall trap method to collect insect samples and analyze ecosystem richness, diversity, evenness, and similarity. It was found that differences in distance had an impact on insect abundance, composition and diversity. The ecotone ecosystem, which is at the closest distance to the forest, showed higher insect abundance and richness compared to the oil palm ecosystem. This creates higher values of ecosystem diversity and similarity between the two ecosystems. However, distance may also limit insect movement between ecosystems. Results from the study may provide new insights into the distance factor in understanding the ecological dynamics of insects between oil palm and forest ecosystems, which may contribute to more effective conservation planning. Abstract

IPB university is one of the universities that has many innovations, this can be shown by IPB's achievements for 12 (twelve) consecutive years (2008-2019) participating in the 100 plus Indonesian innovation program organized by the Business Innovation Center (BIC) with support from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Kemenristekdikti RI) and The Indonesian Academy of Sciences (LIPI). Higher education is an innovation center that plays a role in the progress of society, providing impact and solutions from the results of research conducted. However, the reality is whether the research carried out provides an effective solution to the community or is it just a collection of books that are neatly stored in the library and can only be accessed by certain circles. The research method is designed using qualitative method. Qualitative data informants are representatives of each component, managers and innovators. Qualitative data processing using SWOT analysis (Strength, Weakness, Oppurtunities, Threats). The results showed the current situation has opportunities and strengths so that it can take advantage of internal strengths and existing opportunities, therefore the recommended strategy in this study is an aggressive strategy Keywords: Innovation research result, IPB University, SWOT analysis

Abstract

Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) play a critical role in advancing societal welfare. However, while their numbers have increased, public trust remains low, as NGOs are often perceived to lack the capacity to design and evaluate programs effectively and fail to engage local stakeholders (Bodja, 2006). Previous research has predominantly focused on NGOs' roles in enhancing community participation and social networks, overlooking the importance of program management and stakeholder relations. This article examines the development of program frameworks, program organization, and the involvement of local organizations in Yayasan Nurani Dunia, an NGO that focuses on community development and dedicated to program innovation. Using a qualitative approach, this study employs in-depth interviews and direct field observations. The findings reveal that the program framework has evolved from charity-based initiatives to sustainable empowerment programs. Additionally, program organization demonstrates strong administrative management and incorporates adequate capacity-building elements. Lastly, the engagement of local organizations is reflected in social legitimacy and material and non-material support from relevant stakeholders. Yayasan Nurani Dunia exemplifies social transformation, emphasizing holistic societal change (Lewis & Kanji, 2009).
