<![CDATA[ Pidie Kriet merupakan sebuah stereotip yang berkembang di masyarakat Aceh dan dialamatkan kepada masyarakat yang berada di wilayah Pidie. Stereotip ini bahkan muncul dalam pertemanan mahasiswa. Untuk itu, penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui dan menganalisis pemahaman mahasiswa terhadap stereotip pidie kriet dalam ranah pertemanan mereka di lingkungan Fakultas Ilmu Sosial dan Ilmu Politik. Untuk menganalisis penelitian ini, peneliti menggunakan Teori Interaksionisme Simbolik yang di gagas oleh Herbert Blumer. Metode penelitian menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian deskriptif, dimana yang menjadi informan diperoleh dengan metode purposive sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini dengan cara observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi, serta selanjutnya dianalisis dengan menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswa menolak labelisasi negatif terhadap orang Pidie serta stereotip pidie kriet tidak mempengaruhi pertemanan mereka, mahasiswa tidak mempercayai bahkan menganggap cerita asal-usul munculnya pidie kriet sebagai mitos, mahasiswa beradaptasi terhadap makna stereotip pidie kriet yang diberikan oleh orang lain dan cenderung bersikap netral, mahasiswa menyadari adanya kesalahpahaman dalam labelisasi pidie kriet tersebut berdasarkan interaksi yang berlangsung di lingkungan Fakultas Ilmu Sosial dan Ilmu Politik, dan mahasiswa menyadari bahwa labelisasi terhadap kelompok tertentu tidak dibenarkan karena merugikan eksistensi kelompok tersebut di kalangan masyarakat yang heterogen.STUDENT ATTITUDES TOWARDS PIDIE KRIET STEREOTYPES (Descriptive Study on Friendship Interactions of Sociology Students, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Syiah Kuala University)Pidie Kriet is a stereotype that develops in Aceh society and it is aimed to people in Pidie. This stereotype even appears in student friendships. Because of the reason, this research was conducted for knowing and analysing student understanding to the stereotype of pidie kriet in their friendship in the environment of the Faculty of Social Science and Political Science. To analyze this research, the researcher used the Theory of Symbolic Interactionism initiated by Herbert Blumer. The research method used qualitative methods with types of descriptive research, where the informants were obtained bye the method of purposive sampling. Data collection techniques used in research-by mean of observations, interviews, documentation, and so on-were analyzed using a qualitative descriptive method. Results of this study showed that students rejected negative labeling of Pidie people, and the stereotype of pidie kriet did not affect to their friendship, students did not believe and even considered the story of its origin about pidie kriet as a myth, students adapted to the stereotypical meaning of pidie kriet given by others and tended to be neutral, students realized that there was a misunderstanding in the labeling of the pidie kriet based on interaction that took place within the Faculty of Social Science and Political Science, and students realized that the labeling of groups under certain condition was not justified because it was detrimental to the existence of the group in heterogeneous society.]]>
