Abstract

SARS-Cov-2 is a new virus that causes respiratory diseases that can cause health problems. Consuming foods with balanced and safe nutrition can boost the immune system and reduce the risk of disease.Community service through a community partnership program is carried out by implementing balanced nutrition training using booklets and balanced nutrition cards in Batu Merah Village. The training participants were 15 Dahlia Posyandu cadres in Batu Merah Village. Booklets as a communication medium for health education can increase the average knowledge and attitudes of mothers about choosing healthy and nutritious food. This activity adds insight into the participants' thinking that being healthy is not always expensive, but it can be realized by consuming a variety of foods that are cheap and easy to obtain practical and can be applied every day.

Abstract

Multiple nutritional issues are currently facing school-age children, namely undernutrition and overnutrition induced by poor awareness of healthy nutrition guidelines. The research objective was to assess the effectiveness of the use of comic book media on the healthy nutritional awareness of children relative to poster media. This research style is a quasi-experimental design with a control pre-post examination. The research site, conducted in October 2020, was located in 2 orphanages in Ambon Region. The subjects were orphanage children with an age span of 7-17 years, with a total of 60 individuals. In healthy nutrition therapy. Children's awareness was assessed by a questionnaire at the beginning of the research. On the second day of the study, care was provided in the form of healthy nutrition therapy, divided into two classes, namely the comic group and the poster group. The paired sample t-test and separate t-test samples were used for data analysis. The findings showed that the creation of healthy nutrition awareness in the intervention and control group study subjects caused a substantial difference in the comic and poster media (p<0.05). There is a significant effect of increasing knowledge of balanced nutrition in orphanage children before and after being given comics and poster media.

Abstract

Basic Health Research data from the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia in 2018 showed that nationally the problem of central obesity at the age of 15 years was still serious, namely, 31%, while the prevalence of central obesity at the age of 15 years in Maluku reached 33%. Obesity is becoming a health problem worldwide; even the WHO states that obesity has become a global epidemic. Obesity is a health problem that must address immediately because it is a risk factor for degenerative diseases and metabolic syndrome. Obesity in adolescents needs to get serious attention, be consistent, and be addressed together. To improve health status and optimize adolescent growth and development, it is necessary to apply a healthy diet through the socialization of balanced nutrition with comic media and implementation assistance. Urban gardening for teenagers through mosque youth can be an effort to implement healthy eating patterns for teenagers for optimal nutrition and health status.
