The Survey of the Relationship between the Social Support and the Mental Health among the City of Tabriz Citizens in 2014 Mohsen Hojat

Abstract

Objective the citizens are the focal point of the emotions and excitement, center if the joy and health, the pounding heart and the capitals of a nation and this is why the states pay a great deal of their attention to the citizens’ psychological health in the cultural and social planning and policy-making. The present study aims at the determination of the relationship between the social support and the citizens’ psychological health in the city of Tabriz in 2013. Methods The current study is an analytical-descriptive research. The study sample volume has been selected from an above-15-year old 398 individuals (200 women and 198 men) population based on a multistage clustering method in the city of Tabriz. The information collecting tools were the social support questionnaire and general psychological health questionnaire (GHQ-28). To analyze the data, there was made use of SPSS program ver.16 and the statistical tests such as linear regression tests and independent t-test. Findings According to the findings obtained through the data analyses performed in the current study it was found out that there is a significant relationship between social support and psychological health (P<0.001). The women social support is directly associated with their mental health (P=0.02). Also, there is an inverse relationship between social support with the women’s anxiety-sleep disorders symptoms (P=0.02) and the women’s intensive depression symptoms (p=0.04). Conclusion Social support is in a direct and significant relationship with the women and men’s mental health. Changing the policy making goals with the objective of enhancing the quality and the quantity of the supportive networks, particularly for the susceptible women, can cause the social supports protective effects to be corroborated.Keywords: Mental health, Social support, Gender.

Abstract

Introduction although social phobia is considered mainly as behavioral disorder in the field of clinical psychology, it entails by social factors and in consequences that can be followed in the fields of social sciences and social psychology. Infertile women implicate in social phobia disorder; therefore, this study is designed to put into effect the rate of social phobia among infertile women. Materials and Methods The present study is a descriptive-analytical. It is carried out on 210 infertile women in Jahrom and Yazd. Utilized tool is SPIN questionnaire that its validity and reliability are confirmed. Data collection is inquired by educated group, and it is analyzed by software SPSS: 16. Findings Results indicate that infertile women implicate a high rate of social phobia, and there is significant relationship between social phobia and education, religiosity, and social support (p<0.05).  Conclusion Due to high rate of social phobia among infertile women, it is recommended to consider social phobia and its increasing and decreasing variables, along with mental advisory and physical examination in fertility treatment clinics.Keywords: Social phobia, Religiosity, Social support, Socio-economic status, Infertility, Women.

Abstract

Introduction Ongoing continuing education program with the present methods and conditions is inadequately helpful and applicable. There are various factors, which influence the efficiency and efficacy of such programs for nurses. The present study aimed to investigate the effective factors in application of continuing education from the viewpoints of nurses. Methods This is a cross- sectional descriptive study. Sampling was census, conducted on nurses in Jahrom, Iran in autumn 2015. Data were collected by Dehghan Nayeri and Khosravi checklist with reliability of α=0.949. Data were analyzed by descriptive statistical tests (frequency distribution and mean), independent t- tests and Spearman correlation coefficient. Results In the present study, 176 subjects were recruited of whom 72.7% were female. Subjects' mean age was 21.64 (14.18) years. From the viewpoints of the nurses, the most effective factors for application of continuing clinical education were "the scientific characteristic of the training nurse" and " enough accountability in applications of the learned materials" while the lowest effective factors were" financial reward of the organization for newly learned materials" and "application of distant learning in the ward". Mean overall score of factors effectiveness was 3.07(0.53). Conclusion The level of various factors effectiveness in use and application of continuing education programs should be considered. The most important goal of administration of continuing education programs is improvement of nurses' knowledge and awareness to promote the quality of the given services.Keywords: Continuing education, Nurse, Clinical application.

Abstract

Introduction Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in hospital has received much attention over the last decade. Computing international indices of CPR in hospital can be a guideline for researchers and managers in determining the executive and research priorities. So this study was designed and implemented to evaluate the results of CPR in Motahari Hospital in Jahrom. Materials and Methods this study was a cross-sectional and analytic study that designed and implemented in Motahari Hospital affiliated with the Jahrom University of Medical Sciences during 2011-2015. All patients receiving resuscitation were evaluated each year and in each section as the census regardless of the background factors; and information was collected through cardiopulmonary resuscitation checklist which was filled by clinical supervisor and hospital resident doctor per shift. Content and face validity was calculated according to opinion of 5 professors, content validity index (0.77), and the content validity ratio (0.83); reliability of the tool was calculated through education of clinical supervisors and acquisition of Kappa coefficient to researchers (96%). Data were analyzed by SPSS16 software. Results In this study, resuscitation was annually performed on 353 patients from 389 cases during 2011-2015, that the patients were 78.61% males and 21.39% females with an age range of 1-98 years and an average age of 55.6 years. Of the total cases conducted resuscitation, successful resuscitation was 56.29% at 24 hours and return of spontaneous blood circulation was 63.03% at first 20 minutes. Average total of duration of resuscitation was reported 59.58 minutes. Conclusion the results of this study are consistent with the results of European and America countries. It also shows that the faster resuscitation start and quick and correct use of defibrillator can improve short-term and long-term indicators of resuscitation.Keywords: Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), ROSC - S to D.
