Abstract

Introduction and Objective impulsive behaviors are dysfunctional behaviors that harm others; hence, it is essential to teach some methods to control impulses. In this regard, this study was conducted to examine effectiveness of impulse control training on self-efficacy among high school students. Materials and Methods this is an experimental with pretest-posttest plan. Statistical population of study consisted of all students educating at first grade of high school in Roodsar, Iran; in this regard, 60 students that were not able to control impulse were selected as sample size form several schools through purposeful method then were assigned into two 30-members groups (control and experimental). Then, Sherer Self-efficacy Questionnaire was distributed among members in both groups within pretest then experimental groups received the protocol of impulse control training and control group remained in waiting list; ultimately, self-efficacy questionnaire was again distributed among members in both groups to examine effect of impulse control training protocol as posttest. The obtained data were analyzed using ANCOVA through SPSS22 Software. Findings the obtained results showed that impulses control training could affect self-efficacy of students (P<0.005). Conclusion it is concluded in accordance with obtained findings that impulse control training can increases self-efficacy among students.Keywords: Impulse Control, Self-Efficacy, High School Students.

Abstract

Background and objective: Dialectical Behavior Therapy techniques can be used as useful and effective method in reduction of many clinical symptoms. In this study, Efficacy of dialectical behavior therapy in reduction of   anxiety of students in Tehran City is investigated. Methods and materials: this study is in kind of empirical study with pretest and posttest design with control group. Statistical population in this study consists of all high school female students of Tehran (n=674) educating during academic year of 2015-2016. First, cluster sampling is used and 4 schools are selected from schools of Tehran and from each couple of schools, 2 classrooms were selected and the students with high score in Beck's Anxiety Inventory (BAI) were selected as sample. Then, 30 students were selected using random sampling method and were placed in two groups with 15 people in each group. Both groups fulfilled the BAI in basic step. Experimental group received 12 sessions’ intervention with dialectical behavior therapy techniques and control group remained in waiting list. Both groups fulfilled BAI again after the treatment. Obtained data are analyzed using MANCOVA. Results: obtained results from the study showed that Dialectical Behavior Therapy can affect reduction of anxiety of female students and mean values of both groups are significantly different from each other (p<0.01).Conclusion: Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) techniques can lead to reduction of anxiety of female students.Keywords: Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) techniques, Anxiety, Female students.

Abstract

Background and goal: marital adjustment is one of the most important issues has been considered in societies. Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy is an effective method in increase of marital adjustment; hence, the purpose of this study is to determine effectiveness of mindfulness-based cognitive therapy on marital adjustment among women. Materials and method: the plan of research is experimental with type of pretest and posttest with control group. Statistical population of this study included all persons who had referred to two Counseling Centers in Rasht City, Iran in 2015. Qualified persons to enter into the study filled out Dyadic Adjustment Scale (DAS) and 30 members were randomly chosen out of 50 members who had gained the lower score than cut off point of marital adjustment (100) and then placed into two test and control groups. Experimental intervention (mindfulness-based cognitive therapy) was implemented on test group and post test was conducted for both groups after the end of intervention. The obtained data from Multivariate Analysis of Covariance (MANCOVA) were analyzed through SPSS 22 software. Findings: The obtained results indicated mindfulness training had a significant effect on marital adjustment among women (P<0/01).Conclusion: according to the obtained results, it can be stated that mindfulness-based cognitive therapy would lead to increase in marital adjustment of women.
