Abstract: Lecturers’ perception on the implementation of online learning during pandemic of Covid-19. This research aims to explore lecturers’ perception on the implementation of online learning during pandemic of Covid-19. It employs descriptive qualitative method. Using purposive sampling technique, it collects the data from interviewing 5 lecturers of one private university in Sumedang. Its findings suggest the lecturers perceive that the online learning implementation during Covid-19 pandemic poses some problems. Unstable internet connection is one of the main problems both students and lecturers have to go through. Some problems also occurred in the use of Learning Management System (LMS) which can still be solved by changing its learning platforms or transition from synchronous to asynchronous instructions. It suggests that some improvement is needed to ensure the quality of online learning in the long run. Keyword: lecturer’s perception, online learning Abstrak: Persepsi Dosen Terhadap Pelaksanaan Pembelajaran Online Selama Pandemi Covid-19. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui persepsi dosen terhadap pelaksanaan pembelajaran onlineselama pandemi COVID-19. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian kualitatif deskriptif . Data dalam penelitian ini didapatkan melalui teknik purposive sampling dengan mewawancarai lima orang dosen salah satu perguruan tinggi swasta di Kabupaten Sumedang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa persepsi dosen terhadap pembelajaran online selama Covid-19 masih menemukan kendala di dalam proses pelaksanaannya. Kendala yang muncul berasal dari jaringan internet yang tidak stabil baik yang terjadi pada dosen ataupun mahasiswa. Juga kendala dari LMS yang digunakan karena kadang menemui masalah. Meskipun sejauh ini masih bisa ditangani dengan mengambil langkah solutif berupa berpindah pada platform lain ataupun pembelajaran yang awalnya akan dilaksanakan secara synchronous berganti menjadi asynchronous, tetap diperlukan perbaikan-perbaikan agar proses pembelajaran online bisa menjadi lebih baik ke depannya. There are many things that need to be considered in the translation process, especially the disclosure of messages from the source language into the target language. The message must be in the target language's closest and most reasonable equivalent. Meanwhile, not all languages have the same equivalent or are even close to other languages. Likewise, even though Japanese and Indonesian both have these expressions in conditional expressions, it is necessary to examine the equivalents between them. This research was conducted by examining the data of conditional sentences in the novel â€œBotchanâ€ by Natsume Soseki and its translation into Indonesian. The method used is the descriptive method using the distributional study method. The way to collect data in this study is to select and separate sentences containing Japanese conditional expressions (âˆ¼To, ~Ba, ~Tara, and ~Nara) translated into Indonesian conditional expressions to become apabila, jika, kalau and seandainya, from the whole novel. Then do substitution or replacement techniques. The result of the research found is the conditional form ~to the equivalent is apabila, jika, kalau; the conditional form ~ba is apabila, jika, kalau and seandainya; the conditional form ~tara is apabila, jika, kalau and seandainya; the conditional form ~nara is apabila, jika, kalau and seandainya. Conjunctions that mean requirements, between one and another can be substituted for each other, but this can also be determined from the nuances contained in the sentence, the conjunctions apabila and jika contain more formal nuances, while kalau tends to be more neutral. As for seandainya, it means something that is unlikely to even happen.

This research explores the utilization of Padlet as a collaborative writing platform in enhancing students' argumentative essay writing skills. Employing a case study by means of observation, document analysis, and interviews, the study examines how Padlet is employed on collaborative essay writing classroom and how it facilitates students’ writing skills in argumentative essay writing process. The research findings reveal that while Padlet effectively fosters collaborative interactions among students, enabling them to engage in constructive feedback provision and substantive discussions, its underutilization remains noticeable. The platform's inability to facilitate targeted feedback due to the absence of specific text highlighting and commenting features emerged as a critical limitation hindering comprehensive feedback provision. In spite of these limitations, Padlet significantly improved various dimensions of students' writing skills. The collaborative environment nurtured by Padlet enabled peer feedback exchange, leading to enhancements in grammar, vocabulary, coherence, and overall essay quality. However, students' restricted exploration of Padlet's features underscores the gap between its potential and actual utilization within the classroom. To advance this research, future studies should focus on addressing Padlet's functional limitations by advocating for feature enhancements facilitating targeted feedback.

This research aimed to explore lecturers' attitudes and the challenges faced in teaching foreign cultural values in English language learning. This research employed descriptive qualitative and hermeneutic phenomenological designs in which the research instruments used were documentation, observation, and interview. This research involved lecturers of the English Literature study program of one private university in Indonesia. The results of the data analysis showed that the lecturers' attitudes towards teaching foreign cultural values in English language learning varied. However, in general, the majority of lecturers realize the importance of integrating foreign cultural values (in this case English culture) as part of English language teaching and choose to modify materials about conflicting English cultural values. They argued that providing information about foreign cultural values that conflict with local culture is still important, but it should be accompanied by reinforcement that these values do not follow Indonesian culture. The challenges reported by the lecturers included the difficulty of finding sufficiently representative and up-to-date reference sources, the use of authentic materials that require lecturers to deliver content that contains negative cultural values or is contrary to local culture, and the strengthening of national values and local culture so that students are not easily exposed to foreign cultural values. From the student side, the challenges were the lack of motivation, learning ethos, and English skills when understanding English-language reference sources. Future researchers are advised to expand the study of the impact of using authentic materials containing foreign cultural values on student perceptions and attitudes.

Program pengembangan pariwisata berbasis masyarakat menjadi salah satu solusi strategis dalam mengelola potensi lokal secara berkelanjutan, sekaligus memberikan manfaat ekonomi, sosial, dan budaya bagi warga. Desa Sirnamulya Kabupaten Sumedang memiliki potensi besar untuk meningkatkan kesejahteraan masyarakat melalui pengembangan wisata berbasis komunitas. Oleh karena itu, kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilaksanakan dengan tujuan memetakan potensi lokal, memberikan edukasi mengenai konsep pariwisata partisipatif, serta menggali tingkat keterlibatan warga dalam proses pengembangannya. Program ini dilaksanakan melalui dua tahapan, yaitu perencanaan dan pelaksanaan yang mencakup pemetaan potensi lokal, lokakarya, serta penyebaran angket dan wawancara kepada masyarakat dan aparat desa. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa potensi utama Desa Sirnamulya meliputi area persawahan dan ladang palawija yang luas, keberagaman budaya lokal, serta kuliner khas yang unik. Semua responden menyatakan respon positif terhadap program ini dan 91,6%% di antaranya menyatakan kesediaan berpartisipasi aktif dalam kegiatan pengembangan wisata, seperti melalui pengembangan usaha kuliner, atraksi seni budaya, dan penyediaan homestay. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa kolaborasi dan sinergi antar pemangku kepentingan menjadi kunci untuk mewujudkan pengembangan wisata desa yang berkelanjutan.

This study investigates foreign cultural values in a textbook used in an English Literature Study Program at a private university in Indonesia, focusing on the potential conflicts with Indonesian cultural norms and the perceptions of the lecturer and students towards them. The data were collected through documentation, semi-structured interviews with one lecturer and nine students, as well as a focus group discussion. The result of the analysis reveals several categories of foreign cultural values that contrast with Indonesian norms, including social relations and lifestyle (e.g., open dating and party culture), politeness and norms (e.g., revealing clothing), everyday habits (e.g., gambling), religious references (e.g., Taoism), and worldview (e.g., direct expressions of hatred). Nevertheless, although these contents sometimes contradict Indonesian local values, the respondents acknowledged their value in enhancing their vocabulary, idiomatic competence, and contextual language understanding. The lecturer and students highlighted the importance of clarification and discussion to compare the differences between the target language culture and local culture, with the lecturer playing a crucial role in encouraging reflection. It was also found that the students demonstrated cultural filtering in accepting or rejecting foreign values based on several aspects, including religions, social norms, and family values. The study outlines that foreign cultural values in EFL materials should not be viewed as threats but as opportunities for cross-cultural understanding.
