This study aims to analyse the implementation of the Movement for Environmental Awareness and Culture in Schools (PBLHS) as an effort to improve students' environmental awareness at Datar State Elementary School. The background of this study stems from the low environmental awareness of students, as evident in their behaviour of littering, damaging plants, and lack of responsibility for school cleanliness. Environmental awareness character education is an integral part of moral and character education that instils ecological responsibility through habituation, role modelling, and experience-based activities. This study used a descriptive qualitative approach with a case study method. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, then analysed using the Miles, Huberman, and Saldana model with data triangulation techniques. The research subjects consisted of 30 students in grades IV, V, and VI at Datar State Elementary School, selected using purposive sampling techniques. The results showed that the implementation of the PBLHS programme through Keboligko activities had a significant impact on improving students' environmental awareness. Activities such as waste management, reforestation, water conservation, and school cleanliness encouraged positive behavioural changes. PBLHS proved to be effective because it involved collaboration between teachers, students, and parents in creating an ecological school culture. The exemplary behaviour of teachers and family support also contributed to the success of this programme. In addition, the sustainability and consistency of environmental activities are key factors in permanently instilling values of care. Thus, PBLHS is not only a school cleanliness movement, but also a model of character education that shapes an environmentally conscious, responsible, and sustainable generation.
