Abstract

The Film 'Moxie' raises the issue of gender inequality between men and women. This film depicts teenage girls who dare to rebel against the inequality of androcentrism towards women and fight for gender equality in their school, which is still biased towards male norms. This research question concerns the critical discourse on the inequality of androcentrism between men and women in the Film 'Moxie'. What are the subject and object of the story? Betty Friedan's feminist theory uses the concept of androgyny as a reference because of the similarity in roles between men and women. Sara Mills' critical discourse analysis research method focuses on how women are presented in the text and divided based on the subject-object of the story and the viewer's position related to the issue of androcentrism inequality: critical research paradigm and qualitative descriptive approach. The results of these findings are, first, the inequality of androcentrism between men and women in this film, namely the presence of Misogyny, namely hatred and dislike of women, negative stereotypes, and double standards. Second, in the Film 'Moxie', the subject position of the story is Vivian, and the object position of the story is Vivian's female and male friends at Rockport High School and Principal Shelly. The viewer is positioned as the woman. Androcentrism means male-centered. Androcentrism refers to the pattern that everything related to men is the general guideline, while everything related to women is only an exception. The theoretical implications of this research strengthen the concept of androgyny and criticize the inequality of androcentrism for showing the distribution of equal roles in masculine and feminine characters simultaneously at various levels of life.

Abstract

This study analyzes the dynamics of the communication network between the Islamic Communication and Broadcasting Study Program (KPI) of the Faculty of Da'wah and Communication Sciences, UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, and broadcasting media institutions, and identifies the obstacles faced in dealing with the creative industry. This study uses a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques include in-depth interviews and documentation. Data were analyzed using Rogers & Kincaid's communication network theory. The results of the study show that the communication network between the KPI Study Program and the broadcasting industry is still hierarchical, with a chain communication pattern that limits the flow of information and direct access of students to the industry. The main obstacles found include minimal opportunities for field practice, limited internship quotas, and a lack of industry involvement in developing a curriculum based on market needs. In addition, the formal cooperation that has been established between the Islamic Communication and Broadcasting Study Program and the broadcasting industry is still not optimal in creating a flexible and responsive communication system to the development of digital technology. This study recommends strengthening the academic-industry communication strategy through the development of more open communication patterns, such as star communication patterns, in order to increase direct interaction between students, lecturers, and the broadcasting industry. This effort is expected to strengthen the role of the KPI Study Program in producing graduates who are adaptive, innovative, and ready to compete in the creative and broadcasting industries.

Abstract

Hoax dan Fakes News termasuk disinformasi. Sebagian dosen memahami disinformasi dan sebagian kurang memahami disinformasi di Media Massa. Bagaimana menghadapi krisis ini? Apalagi sebagian mahasiswa KPI kurang tahu dan kurang bisa membedakan antara informasi bohong, Hoax, berita palsu atau Fake News dan disinformasi. Dosen dan mahasiswa sebagai pembaca virtual sebaiknya bisa membedakan Fake News dan Hoax dan mengetahui penyebaranjauh lebih cepat daripada berita yang akurat dan cover both sides. Pertanyaan penelitian; 1) Bagaimana dosen KPI dan mahasiswa KPI FIDIKOM UIN Jakarta memahami, menyikapi, dan menghadapi Disinformasi sebagai pembaca media massa? Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif. Paradigma konstruktivisme mendalami pemahaman, sikap, dan tindakan pembaca media massa ketika mereka menemui berita bohong, palsu, dan fakes news. Subjek penelitian adalah tiga dosen dan tiga mahasiswa KPI dengan metode FGD dan wawancara mendalam. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemahaman satu dosen dan satu mahasiswa yang pernah mengikuti workshop tentang disinformasi lebih bisa memahami istilahnya, menyikapi dengan tenang, dan menghadapinya lebih profesional. Sedangkan satu dosen dan satu mahasiswa mencari tahu sendiri, mereka agak ragu dan bingung antara hoax, berita palsu, dan fake news.Sedangkan satu dosen dan satu mahasiswa kurang pengetahuan, tidak menyikapi atau kurang peduli terhadap tersebut dan mereka tidak mencari tahu, apalagi menyikapi, dan menghadapi disinformasi tersebut. Mereka hanya membaca komentar orang lain saja tanpa komentar karena mereka tidak tahu. Jadi mereka tidak tahu dan berupaya untuk tidak komentar. Namun mereka tahu dan mereka akan memberikan fakta baru. Kontribusi penelitian ini memperkaya dakwah bil hal bagi yang sudah memahami disinformasi, tidak membiarkan orang lain yang sedang ragu dan bingung. Dakwah bil qalam bagi yang tahu. Metode Dakwah bil hikmah menganjurkan diam bila kita tidak tahu permasalahannya dan tidak memiliki fakta.

Abstract

Isu Jokowi anggota Partai Komunis Indonesia kembali muncul menjelang kontestasi pemilihan Presiden 2019. Isu ini menyebar setelah beredarnya foto di media sosial yang  menampilkan Jokowi berada di podium bersama Ketua PKI D.N. Aidit yang sedang berpidato pada 1955. Terkait isu tersebut, Jokowi gencar melakukan klarifikasi di berbagai kesempatan, dan Tempo.co termasuk media online yang aktif memberitakan klarifikasi isu terkait Jokowi PKI. Artikel ini menjelaskan bagaimana Tempo.co membingkai pemberitaan klarifikasi isu Jokowi PKI. Penelitian ini menggunakan analisis framing Zhongdang Pan dan Gerald M. Kosicki. Model framing menggunakan empat unsur dalam membedah teks yaitu, sintaksis, skrip, tematik, dan retoris. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pada pemberitaan klarifikasi isu Jokowi Partai Komunis Indonesia, Tempo.co mencoba “menggiring” opini publik agar sependapat dengan Tempo.co yang juga sepenuhnya sependapat dengan Jokowi. Ini terlihat dari salah satu pemberitaannya yang sepenuhnya memuat pernyataan Jokowi terkait tuduhan yang menimpa dirinya. Dari elemen kutipan sumber, tampak jelas bahwa Tempo.co condong kepada Jokowi dengan hanya memasukkan orang-orang atau narasumber yang bersimpati dan mendukung Jokowi.

Abstract

Da'wah, that is happening today, is no longer centered on the pulpit. One of the phenomena carried out in the newest application is Discord, which game players widely use for preaching in a modern way through an existing community, namely "Salam Talk." This research was used to answer questions about the occurrence of the Difusi phenomenon of using the Discord application in the "Salam Talk" community in preaching and the supporting factors for the occurrence of the phenomenon in the "Salam Talk" community. The theory used is Alfred Schutz's phenomenological theory, which specializes in the experiences of each member with a concentration on problems arising from textual interpretation. The research method used is Merleau-Ponty's phenomenology, describing phenomena, context, and situation as part of the approach. The phenomenon in this study is the experience of using Discord as a da'wah medium in the "Salam Talk" community. The findings of this study obtain results that are present in the form of ease in learning about Islam. With sensory experiences, such as wise experiences that involve interaction, emotional experiences include affection for the community and reflective experiences when one understands phenomenal thoughts. These social experiences involve interaction between members and religious experiences that make a person feel more able to deepen his religion while experiencing movement. The phenomenon of "Preaching Through Discord."
