Abstract

Indonesia's poverty predominates in rural areas with minimal access to basic infrastructure. This study aims to analyze: (1) the effect of educational infrastructure on rural poverty; (2) the influence of health infrastructure on rural poverty; (3) Development Village Index (IDM) moderates the effect of the number of schools and the number of health facilities on rural poverty. Social infrastructure is measured based on educational infrastructure (number of elementary, junior high school, high school, university buildings) and health infrastructure (number of hospital buildings and community health centers), while poverty is measured by the percentage of rural poverty. The data source used is from the results of a national scale survey, namely the 2018-2021 Podes. The analytical method uses multiple linear regression models and moderation tests. The results of the analysis show that the number of schools has a negative and significant effect on rural poverty, while the number of health facilities has a positive and significant effect on rural poverty. And based on the results of the moderation test that IDM is a moderating variable that can strengthen the relationship between the number of schools and the number of health facilities to rural poverty in Indonesia.

Abstract

Ikat weaving is one of the Indonesian traditional textile arts commonly found in various parts of the country. Each region typically has its own motifs, designed manually and spontaneously without predesign stages. Therefore, developing a method to design weaving motifs is necessary to avoid spontaneous, monotonous products. This work attempted to explore the most efficient method in the ikat weaving design process, which would be helpful for Indonesian ikat weaving industries to deliver more diverse ikat weaving designs. To this end, we conducted a study in one of the ikat weaving workshops in Sukoharjo Regency, Indonesia. This participatory action research and development produced Adaptive ikat weaving templates that could be used to create various designs with different sizes. The template was designed entirely digitally using Firealpaca. The color application was also performed. The development of the digital ikat weaving design method is expected to encourage ikat weaving industries to present fresher, appealing motifs.Ikat weaving is one of the Indonesian traditional textile arts commonly found in various parts of the country. Abstract

This research aims to identify the relationship between poverty and risk preference in Indonesia empirically. This research employs the Indonesia Family Life Survey 2014 (IFLS5) using the Ordinary Least Square (OLS) and quantile regression approach, one of the most extended longitudinal data, to support this research design. The result reveals that poor households are more risk-averse than others across income levels. Moreover, poor people are poorly educated and mostly come from rural and disaster-prone areas. This evidence suggests that poor people from rural communities and disaster-prone regions should be prioritized and empowered to move from poverty zones due to their relatively high vulnerability.
