Abstract

Telemedicine is an emerging industry with the ability to revolutionize healthcare delivery for the benefit of consumers, providers and payors. In general, it is a common concept which is used to define various aspects of healthcare at a distance. Telemedicine has been revealed as one potential solutions to some of the medical dilemmas that are faced by many developing countries. In recent years, the burden of caregiving for mental illness service users has been alarming due to the lack of resources in mental health services. The problem of treatment for mental illness in Malaysia and Indonesia is now becoming more complicated with people who have different attitudes and views. In this paper, we will discuss the current state and embracement of telemedicine in psychiatry (telepsychiatry)  in developing countries in South-East Asia (SEA) in general, with Malaysia and Indonesia in particular. Keywords: telemedicine, telepsychiatry, psychiatry, healthcare, community, Malaysia, Indonesia

Abstract

AbstractBackground: Since the first cases of COVID-19 were discovered, various countries have sought various methods and ways to deal with the pandemic. Some adaptations also need to be made to avoid further adverse effects. One of the ways is by doing lock-down so that distance learning is implemented using various educational media. The face-to-face or offline learning system that has been applied as a learning method has also been changed to a distance or online method. This has the potential to have a negative impact on the mental health of students. This study aims to discuss the impact and vulnerability of students to distance or online learning methods.Method: Researchers used 15 journals and literature that discuss the impact and vulnerability of distance learning on students' mental health conditions.  Conclusion: Distance or online learning is one of the methods to reduce the spread of covid, but this has a negative impact on mental health especially on the students. The effects experienced by students include anxiety, mild to severe stress, social media fatigue, and depression. The things that underlie this impact have several factors such as unfamiliarity and need for adaptation time, the ability to use technology, a heavy burden of responsibility, and concerns about the economic burden of parents to finance learning activities. In this pandemic condition, efforts from all parties are needed so that the bad impact on the mental health of students can be minimized.

Abstract

The postpartum blues occurs when a mother fails to accept her condition caused by pregnancy, pregnancy, childbirth and post partum. This research is very important because postpartum blues which is known as a form of mild depression can develop into postpartum depression if not treated properly. This study aims to explore coping strategies for postpartum blues sufferers by using a qualitative research method with a case study method. Two participants who were selected by purposive sampling technique, who experienced the postpartum blues were obtained from the city of Kediri. Methods Data collection was carried out through interviews (in-depth interviews), field notes, and input from The Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale (EPDS). The results of this study indicate that the coping used in mothers who experience post partum blues uses problem focused coping, but the participants have also used emotional focused coping. The use of this coping variation does not indicate that the strategy taken is decided without any consideration of problem solving. There are variations in the use of coping strategies because coping strategies do not have to end in solving the problem at once. This problem makes the participant's condition better than before. The participants feel calmer in dealing with every problem, are confident, and will stimulate the participants to seek more knowledge and be able to provide support to anyone, especially for mothers who experience post partum blues. Keywords: coping Strategy, postpartum blues
