Abstract

A ‘paradigm’ is a mindset based on interconnected assumptions and underpinnings which appear to be self-evident truths. It is thus an intellectual structure founded on connected components while being, at the same time, an understanding of reality. Paradigms decide what does, or does not, happen. A shift to accurate paradigm opens the way for much positive and beneficial change. A new paradigm cannot be understood by using the analysis and understandings of the old paradigm. It can only be understood in terms of its own new analysis and understandings

Abstract

JOCRISE is embarked upon a project of universal, even cosmic, significance. Rejecting the outdated, inaccurate and static understanding of reality which underlies mainstream economics, the Paradigm provides a new, accurate and dynamic understanding of our changing world. The new understanding is not reductionist and encompasses many subjects (including history, sociology, psychology, religion, environment, anthropology, technology and epistemology). The result is an ability to find solutions for major global problems (e.g., persistent poverty, depletion of resources and environmental depredation) which, at present, appear to be insoluble. The Paradigm’s potency is comparable to that of the Copernican Revolution which overthrew the concept of an Earth-centred universe and replaced it by a sun-centred one with consequences including today’s political democracy (i.e., the vote) as well as modern astronomy and rocketry. Just as the Revolution introduced a new methodology for astronomy, so the Paradigm introduces a new Methodology for economics which:- establishes that mainstream economics is founded upon fifty nine false, outdated, interconnected assumptions about reality reverses the false assumptions whereon the reversals (or opposites) are easily seen to be true and can therefore form the components of the new Economics with hugely beneficial consequences. The ‘Great Reset’ is a phrase describing the proposals of the World Economic Forum which will concentrate all economic power into the hands of the few rather than putting economic power into the hands of the many. The Paradigm has areas needing development (see Appendix Two). Readers are encouraged to make the development and so forward the progress of the Paradigm as a whole.

Abstract

Education is generally believed to be the purpose of society.  Thus mathematical and linguistic skills are necessary for the production and consumption sectors of the economy thereby benefitting everybody (if only to some extent). Nevertheless, certain political and economic groupings within society only want to benefit themselves rather than everybody else.  They can do this via their supporters in higher education, think tanks and mainstream media who promote False Controlling Concepts which have underlying assumptions about reality all of which are claimed to be true.  The actuality, however, is the opposite and the falsity serves the economic and financial interests of the groupings while, at the same time, producing distortions, disorders, inefficiencies and injustices in society as a whole. Fortunately, the false assumptions can be reversed to create the JOCRISE Paradigm thereby enabling new solutions to major global problems
Decentering - from Ptolemaic to Planetary (or Oneness) Paradigm Shakespeare, Rodney

Abstract

The Ptolemaic paradigm put the Earth at the centre of the universe giving rulers a Divine Right (to rule) and awarding humans high status as God’s Children who had planetary dominion.  However, in the sixteenth century, the Copernican Revolution decentered the Earth and so began undermining the Divine Right although it continued the high status and planetary dominion. Three centuries later, Darwinian Evolution, establishing that Homo sapiens is only one species among many, decentered humans from their high status.  Nevertheless, it did not check the dominion.  Indeed, Evolution did the opposite and gave humans a licence to pillage.  Moreover, the licence exacerbated the aggressive tendencies of Homo economicus as developed by John Stuart Mill.  Influenced by Malthus and Tennyson, Herbert Spenser then united Darwin and Mill proclaiming Survival of the Fittest thereby encouraging the imperialism and economic expansionism which would plunder the planet and result in today’s environmental crises. However, the Planetary (or Oneness) Paradigm, in a third decentering, remembers that humans are part of, and not separate from, the planet as a whole and enables Homo economicus to evolve into Homo co-operans thereby creating beneficial outcomes and enabling A Shared World View.
