Abstract

This research aims to describe the effect of reasoning ability and problem-solving ability, the effect of self-efficacy and problem-solving ability, and the effect of reasoning ability and self-efficacy on the problem-solving ability of junior high school students. This research was correlational descriptive research. The population of this research is 8th-grade students in one of the junior high school in Bantul. The research sampling technique was used to take the sample in this research is purposive random sampling which was obtained 20 students from grade 8A. The data was obtained using 2 ways named test and non-test. Test instrument in the form of essay problem to obtain reasoning ability and problem-solving ability data. While, non-test instrument in the form of questionnaire to obtain self-efficacy. The data were analyzed using multiple linear regression. The result of this result is there is the effect of reasoning ability on problem-solving ability belongs to very low category and the effect is not significant , there is the effect of self-efficacy on problem-solving ability belongs to strong enough category besides the effect is significant. Besides, the effect of reasoning ability and self-efficacy is positive on problem solving-ability as much as 49.3%, while the remainder is 50.7% was affected by other variables.

Abstract

This research aimed to find out the effectiveness of problem posing approach in regards to problem solving ability on high school students of class X in learning mathematics. This research was quasi experiment with pre-test post-test group design. The subjects of this study were students grade X in SMA Negeri Imogiri, where the samples were class X4. The samples were given the treatment of problem posing. The research instruments are problem solving ability test and observation sheet. The validity of the instruments was determined through content validity. The results of data analyze showed that learning by problem posing approach is effective to increase problem solving ability on high school students of class X SMA Negeri Imogiri in learning mathematics. Abstract

Pelaksanaan pengabdian dengan kegiatan pelatihan pembuatan alat peraga berbasis STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) bagi guru Sekolah Dasar (SD) di lingkungan Kramat ini diadakan karena pengetahuan dan kemampuan guru dalam membuat alat peraga masih perlu ditingkatkan, belum semua guru pernah memperoleh pelatihan tentang alat peraga, dan ketersediaan alat peraga belum banyak variasi atau inovasi, serta keberadaan alat peraga yang sering ada hanya pada lingkup materi geometri. Pelatihan ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pelatihan kepada guru untuk membuat alat peraga, mengenalkan pembelajaran berbasis STEM di tingkat Sekolah Dasar, dan mengembangkan kemampuan keprofesian guru dengan membuat karya inovatif bagi guru-guru di SD Negeri Kramat 1 dan SD Negeri Kramat 5. Kegiatan ini dilakukan dengan metode pelatihan yang dilaksanakan dikedua SD tersebut. Metode pelaksanaan pengabdian ini terdiri dari tahapan persiapan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi. Daya tarik dan urgensi pengabdian ini adalah dibutuhkannya pelatihan pembuatan alat peraga yang inovatif bagi guru, mengenalkan inovasi melalui konsep Engineering Design Process pada alat peraga berbasis STEM kepada guru dengan adanya penyelidikan sains, konstruksi teknik, keterampilan teknologi, dan penalaran matematis, serta dibutuhkannya alat peraga bagi siswa SD untuk memfasilitasi pembelajaran sesuai tingkat kognitifnya. Hasil dari pengabdian ini adalah guru memahami pengertian alat peraga, manfaat alat peraga, dan pentingnya alat peraga bagi pembelajaran berbasis STEM mencakup pengertian pembelajaran berbasis STEM, perspektif STEM dalam 4 level, Engineering Design Process (EDP), dan contoh kegiatan STEM; guru dapat membuat alat peraga yang diintegrasikan dengan STEM, dan guru dapat melakukan simulasi penggunaan alat peraga yang dibuat. Program ini memberikan manfaat untuk menambah wawasan tentang karya inovatif bagi guru sehingga dapat guru dapat melakukan inovasi memanfaatkan sumber belajar yang ada di sekitar.
