Abstract

Stress refers to events that can affect a person's physical and psychological condition, including in the process of spermatogenesis. Eucalyptus oil has an antidepressant effect which acts to prevent the stress from continuing. This study aims to determine how the administration of eucalyptus oil inhalation on the number of spermatid cells in male mice (Mus musculus) exposed to acute stress. This research is a true experimental study with a posttest only control group design approach. A total of 28 adult male mice selected by simple random sampling were grouped into four groups, namely the normal control group (no treatment); negative control group (given exposure to acute stress); positive control group (administered 0.2 mL alprazolam and exposure to acute stress); treatment group (given 0.5 mL of eucalyptus oil and exposure to acute stress). Stress treatment was carried out for six minutes per day in 14 days. The results of the study using the oneway ANOVA statistical test showed that there was a difference between each experimental group (p<0.001). Tukey's further test results showed that there was a significant difference between the eucalyptus oil group given stress exposure with intervention and the negative control group given stress exposure without intervention (p<0.001). This proves that eucalyptus oil has a preventive effect on stress and prevents a decrease in the number of spermatid cells.

Abstract

Damage on gastric mucosa is caused by an imbalance of defensive factors and aggressive factors. This can be due to various factors, one of which is stress. Cajuput oil as aromatherapy is proven to prevent stress because it contains 1,8 cineole, α-terpineol, and 4-terpineol which have a sedative-hypnotic effect. This study aims to determine the effect of inhalation of cajuput oil on the gastric histology of mice. This research is a true experimental with a post test only control group design. The research subjects were 16 adult male mice taken by simple random sampling and divided into normal group (KN), negative control group (K-), positive control group (K+), and cajuput oil inhalation group (P). Groups K+, K-, and P were given stress treatment with the Tail Suspension Test (TST) method for six minutes for 14 day. Surgery was perfomed on the 15th day and histology preparations were made. The average score of gastric mucosal damage in cajuput oil group was lower when compared to the stress group although the results of the Tukey test showed no significant results between these two group. It can be concluded that cajuput oil with an inhalation dose 0.5 mL has anti-stress effect that prevent gastric mucosal damage in mice which acute stress induced.

Abstract

Uterine myoma or uterine leiomyoma or fibroid are benign tumors of the smooth muscle of the uterus, which occur in 20-25% of women of reproductive age. One of the things that can stimulate the occurrence of uterine myoma is estrogen, that is why uterine myoma cannot be identified before puberty and it could shrink or even disappear when entering menopause. Not all uterine myoma have symptoms, the symptoms will appear according to the location where the uterine myoma is sited. Complications can occur depending on the location, which can interfere with the pregnancy until postpartum. This study aims to determine the characteristics of obstetric status in uterine myoma patients at RSUD Dr. M. Haulussy Ambon in 2018-2021. This research is a quantitative descriptive study using secondary data medical records. Sampling in the study is total sampling. Based on the results of the study, in 119 samples, most cases of uterine myoma were found at the age of 36-45 years (44.5%), a secondary education level (51.3%), housewife (66.4%), multipara (47, 1%), and those who have never had an abortion (95.8%). While at least 17-25 years old (1.7%), primary education level (16.0%), retired (0,8%) and Polri/TNI (0.8%), grandemultipara (5.9%), and women who had abortions ≥ 2 times (1.7%).

Abstract

Data on vaccination coverage in Central Maluku Regency is the Regency with the second lowest percentage after West Seram. Tulehu Village is one of two villages with low vaccination rates in Salahutu District with a vaccine percentage of 35.59%. The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between knowledge, attitudes, and social support with community participation in COVID-19 vaccination in Tulehu Village, Central Maluku Regency in 2022. This study was a quantitative analytical study with a cross-sectional approach and a sample of 106 respondents. This research uses a purposive sampling technique. The results of the research conducted showed a relationship between knowledge (p = 0.022), attitude (p = 0.048), and social support with community participation in Tulehu Village in the COVID-19 vaccination program (p = 0.027). The results of this study indicate a relationship between the dependent and independent variables. These results can be concluded that the better a person's knowledge, attitudes, and social support, the better one's participation in the COVID-19 vaccination will be. It is recommended to increase education and support to the community regarding COVID-19 vaccination.
