Abstract

ABSTRACT The use of gadgets in preschool children is not a new phenomenon, but due to the Covid-19 pandemic which is still endemic to this day, children often play at home. So that the duration of using gadgets increases from before and can cause children to become addicted to playing gadgets. Gadget addiction is a concern for parents if its use is excessive, which can have an impact on children's development, one of which is emotional development. To analyze the relationship between gadget addiction and mental emotional of preschool-age children during the Covid-19 pandemic at Puskesmas Perumnas II Pontianak. Quantitative research uses analytical observational design with a cross sectional approach. The sampling technique used was proportional sampling with a total sample of 100 respondents. Data analysis using pearson chi square test. Gadget addiction behavior in children as many as 31% experienced severe dependence, 37% moderate, 32% mild, and 4% non-dependent. Emotional mental development of children is 45% likely to have emotional mental problems and 55% have a normal emotional mentality. The Pearson chi square test showed that the P-value = 0.000 (<0.005).There is a relationship between gadget addiction and mental emotional in preschool children during the covid-19 pandemic at Puskesmas Perumnas II Pontianak. Keywords: Gadget Addiction, Mental Emotional Problems, Preschool  ABSTRAK Penggunaan gadget pada anak usia prasekolah bukanlah fenomena yang baru, tetapi akibat pandemi Covid-19 yang masih mewabah hingga saat ini membuat anak lebih sering bermain di rumah. Sehingga durasi penggunaan gadget meningkat dari sebelumnya dan bisa menyebabkan anak menjadi kecanduan dalam bermain gadget. Kecanduan gadget menjadi kekhawatiran tersendiri bagi orang tua jika penggunaannya sangat berlebihan, yaitu dapat berdampak pada perkembangan anak, salah satunya adalah perkembangan emosional. Menganalisis hubungan gadget addiction dengan mental emosional anak usia prasekolah selama masa pandemi Covid-19 di wilayah kerja Puskesmas Perumnas II Pontianak. Penelitian kuantitatif menggunakan desain observasional analitik dengan pendekatan cross sectional. Teknik sampling yang digunakan adalah proportional sampling dengan jumlah sampel 100 responden. Analisa data menggunakan uji pearson chi square. Perilaku gadget addiction pada anak sebanyak 31% mengalami ketergantungan berat, 37% sedang, 32% ringan, dan 4% tidak ketergantungan. Perkembangan mental emosional anak sebanyak 45% kemungkinan mengalami masalah mental emosional dan 55% memiliki mental emosional normal. Uji pearson chi square menunjukkan bahwa P-value = 0,000 (<0,005). Ada hubungan antara gadget addiction dengan mental emosional anak usia prasekolah selama masa pandemi Covid-19 di wilayah kerja Puskesmas Perumnas II Pontianak. Kata Kunci: Kecanduan Gadget, Masalah Mental Emosional, Anak Prasekolah
