Abstract

This study aims to develop an open-source and legal operating system for Quranic education that can be used for teaching the Quran to 4th-grade students using a computer. The operating system display is customized using code commands and Gnome Tweak Tool, and includes themes, shells, icons, fonts, OS logos, backgrounds, booting screens, and multimedia. The IQROS Linux distribution was designed to assist teachers in teaching Quranic lessons to elementary school students, and was evaluated using a questionnaire at a particular elementary school in Indonesia. The study found that the majority of respondents agreed that the color and background design were appropriate, and the use of IQROS Linux was suitable for facilitating religious learning. The software was found to help teachers with their work and increase student interest in learning the Quran, demonstrating the potential of IQROS Linux to enhance religious education in elementary schools. The relevant future resreach is to conduct a longitudinal study to assess the long-term impact of using IQROS Linux on students' Quranic learning outcomes. This could involve tracking students' progress over several years to measure their retention of Quranic knowledge and their ability to apply it in their daily lives.

Abstract

The study aimed to investigate the impact of conflict resolution procedures on teachers' job satisfaction in Government Technical Colleges in Kano State, Nigeria. The population of the study was 367 respondents, including 15 principals and 352 technical teachers. A sample size of 201 respondents was determined using the correlational research design. The instrument used for data collection was a structured questionnaire titled "Principal’s Conflict Resolution Procedure Appraisal Questionnaire (PCRPAQ)." The questionnaire was validated by three experts, and the reliability index obtained using Cronbach Alpha was 0.82. The research questions were answered using the mean and standard deviation, and regression analysis was used to test the null hypotheses at a 0.05 level of significance. The findings of the study revealed that arbitration conflict management strategy and effective communication conflict management strategy had a moderate influence on teachers' job satisfaction. Based on the findings, the study recommends that civil societies should enlighten school administrators, teachers, and teachers' unions about the need to adopt the arbitration conflict management strategy, as the constitution provides for all labor-related cases to be handled at the arbitration court.

Abstract

This paper was undertaken to determine the influence of school administrators’ conflict resolution strategies on teachers’ job satisfaction in GTCs of Kano State, Nigeria. A correlational research design was used in the study. 367 respondents comprising of 15 administrators and 352 Technical teachers in GTCs in Kano State form the population of the study. The sample size was 201 respondents selected using simple random sampling technique. Conflict Management Strategies Questionnaire (CMSQ), a structured questionnaire designed by the researchers, served as the data gathering tool. Three experts validated the instrument, and a reliability index of 0.82 was established using Cronbach Alpha. The questions in the study were answered using the mean statistic, and regression analysis with a 0.05 level of significance was used to test the null hypotheses. The findings revealed that: principals in GTCs in Kano State employed the following conflict-resolution techniques: negotiation, arbitration, effective communication, conversation, accommodation, harmonization, adjudication, and smoothing. Furthermore, to a moderate extent, the negotiation conflict management strategy influences teachers' job satisfaction. It was recommended that Government should provide more training for school administrators on the effective ways for conflict management resolution strategy to engender effective conflict resolutions in GTCs that will enhance teachers’ job satisfaction. Additionally, School administrators should encourage their staff to resolve their disputes through dialogue and be ready to abide by the outcome of the dialogue.
