Abstract

This study aimed to describe students Self Regulated Learning abilities and mathematical problem-solving abilities, as well as to determine whether there was a significant influence of self regulated learning on the mathematical problem solving abilities of Grade XI Science students at SMA NW Mataram in the 2025/2026 academic year. This study employed a ex pos facto with a quantitive approach. The population and sample consisted of all 31 students of Grade XI Science at SMA NW Mataram. The research instruments included a self regulated learning questionnaire and a mathematical problem solving test. The test material in this study consists of sequences and series. The data were analyzed using simple linear regression analysis. The results showed that: (1) the students self regulated learning ability was in the moderate category, with a percentage of 64.5%; (2) the students' mathematical problem-solving ability was also in the moderate category, with a percentage of 83.88%; and (3) there was a significant influence of self regulated learning on students mathematical problem solving ability. This finding was supported by the regression equation Y = 2.777 + 0.221X and the results of the F-test, which indicated that Fcalculated = 30.786 was greater than Ftable = 4.18. Furthermore, the coefficient of determination (R²) was 0.515, indicating that self regulated learning contributed 51.5% to students mathematical problem solving ability, while the remaining 48.5% was influenced by other factors.
