Abstract

Penggunaan produk dari plastik di sektor industri mengalami peningkatan dikarenakan plastik memiliki keunggulan yaitu memiliki sifat ulet, mudah dibentuk, ringan, tidak korosif, dan dapat didaur ulang. Dengan itu, industri manufaktur plastik mengalami peningkatan permintaan produk yang membuat perusahaan bekerja lebih cepat. PT. Plastik Karawang Flexindo adalah salah satu perusahaan yang memproduksi olahan plastik. Namun seringkali proses produksi terhambat akibat terjadinya kerusakan komponen mesin yang menyebabkan tidak tercapainya target produksi. Penelitian ini dilakukan unutuk mengetahui efektivitas dan kinerja mesin seal cutting palstik melalui metode Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) sebagai alat bantu mengukur batas antara kinerja aktual dengan kinerja potensial pada saat manufaktur. Penelitian yang dilakukan pada Maret 2022 – Mei 2022 menghasilkan nilai Availability Ratio sebesar 78,61%, nilai Performance Ratio sebesar 92,31% dan nilai Quality Ratio sebesar 99,16%. dan didapatkan rata – rata nilai Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) adalah 71%.  Pengukuran kerugian dilakukan dengan pendekatan Six Big Losses. Dari keenam faktor tersebut Idling and Minor Stopages Losses dengan nilai 49,74%, Reduced Speed Losses dengan nilai 19,67%, Setup and Adjusment Losses 17,93%, Equipment Failure Losses 3,45%, Defect Losses 0,58%, dan Reduced Yield 0%. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diketahui bahwa penyebab kegagalan yang akan diperbaiki sesuai urutan prioritas adalah mengganti komponen mesin yang sudah tua dan pemeliharaan mesin berkala. Abstract

The trend of good performance in the manufacturing industry continues to increase in line with high consumer demand. For this reason, the plastic manufacturing industry has to go the extra mile to meet market demand. However, it is constrained by the ability of production machines that risk interfering with product quality. The cutting machine is a plastic production machine at PT. XYZ, functions as a plastic cutter. Has poor performance with high product defects. The research was conducted to determine the factors causing the high product defects on cutting machines at PT. XYZ. This research method uses the DMAIC concept to determine the factors that cause product failure. It was concluded that product failure on cutting machines reached 3422 kg, the DPMO value reached 1335.67 indicating sigma level 4, which means that the quantity of product defects is moderate, the cause of high product defects is due to worn out machine conditions, shortage of spare parts, human error due to workload and lack of supervision. Evaluation and suggestions for minimizing product defects on cutting machines include implementing an apprenticeship system, making SOPs, imposing strict sanctions, tightening supervision, rejuvenating production machines and providing spare parts for production machines.
