Abstract

Background: Attention to open innovation is more important for future research. The impact of the globalization era in health care means that nursing staff are required to be competitive and more professional with the use of increasingly developing technology. Innovation performance is an important determinant of organizational success. Objective: The substantial for this study is analysing key factors which effect the relationship between competence, motivation to innovate the performance of nursing with organizational commitment as mediating. Method: This research adopted cross-sectional research. The total respondents in this study was 60 nurses at Jasmine Room RSST Klaten with a census. This study used a hypothesis for applying path analysis, validity reliability for questioner, Statistic-test, and also coefficient determination with correlation. Results: Path 1 show that competence (Co) and motivation (Mt) have positive significance on organizational commitment (Z).  Path 2 shows that competence (Co), motivation (Mt), and organizational commitment (Z) have positive significance. Highlighting the findings, nurse behaviour in innovation is based on competence. The support of hospital organizational commitment has an impact on strengthening nurses' ability in innovation behaviour. Improving the behaviour of nursing personnel in innovating will realize public health needs, and the need for understanding in healthy behaviour. In nursing staff, both those at a young or old age who will retire, competence becomes a factor that cannot be ruled out by funds to innovate. For the motivation, it does not have much meaning for nursing personnel who are old and about to retire. Conclusion: The spotlight on findings shows the behaviour of nurses in innovation is based on competence. The support of hospital organizational commitment has the impact of strengthening the ability of nurses in innovation behaviour. Increasing the behaviour of nursing personnel in innovating will realize public health needs, and the need for understanding healthy behaviour. Abstract

This study aims to develop a conceptual model describing the relationship between Awareness, Compliance with PPE Use, Risk Perception, Organizational Support, Barriers and Attitudes and Compliance in improving occupational safety of healthcare workers. Using a Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) approach, this study investigates the influence of six latent factors, namely awareness, compliance behavior, risk perception, organizational support, barriers, and attitudes/motivation on occupational safety. A cross-sectional survey was conducted on 33 nurses at Dian Pertiwi Hospital, Karanganyar, Indonesia, using a Likert-scale questionnaire. Data were analyzed using SPSS and SmartPLS for construct validation and model testing. Reliability analysis showed that most constructs achieved Cronbach's Alpha ≥ 0.7, except for Risk Perception (α=0.693) and Attitude/Motivation (α=0.439), which improved after refinement. SEM results (R²=0.2275) indicated that PPE awareness and compliance had a positive, though insignificant, effect on occupational safety (p>0.05). These findings suggest that awareness and compliance play a significant role in improving workplace safety, but organizational factors and motivational aspects also contribute to behavioral consistency. This study provides a validated conceptual framework for future interventions aimed at improving PPE compliance and safety culture in healthcare institutions.

Abstract

Epidermophyton floccosum is the only pathogenic species within the genus Epidermophyton, classified as a dermatophyte and recognized as one of the causative agents of toenail onychomycosis. Onychomycosis caused by E. floccosum is characterized by nail plate thickening, yellowish-to-brownish discoloration, subungual hyperkeratosis, and onycholysis of a chronic, non-self-resolving nature. This study aims to comprehensively review the mycological characteristics, epidemiology, pathogenesis, clinical features, diagnosis, and management of toenail onychomycosis caused by Epidermophyton floccosum based on original scientific journals published between 2021 and 2026. A literature review was conducted on PubMed, EMBASE, Scopus, and Wiley Online Library databases using the keywords Epidermophyton floccosum, Onychomycosis, Dermatophytosis of the nails, Dermatophytes, and Fungal nail infection. Results indicate that E. floccosum is an anthropophilic fungus transmitted through direct contact on moist communal surfaces, predominantly found in tropical and subtropical regions. Morphologically, it is characterized by club-shaped macroconidia with smooth thin walls, the absence of microconidia, and the production of keratinase enabling invasion of keratinized nail tissue. The prevalence of E. floccosum among confirmed dermatophytosis cases reached 1.8%, with annual variation of 0.4%–3.0%, and higher rates in tropical and subtropical areas. Key risk factors include use of moist communal facilities, immunosuppression, diabetes mellitus, and poor foot hygiene. Management with oral terbinafine or itraconazole requires ≥12 weeks of therapy, with significant recurrence risk. These findings underscore the importance of accurate species identification in onychomycosis management to optimize treatment outcomes.

Abstract

Trichophyton is a genus of dermatophytes that most frequently causes superficial infections in humans, particularly tinea capitis, tinea corporis, tinea pedis, and onychomycosis. Accurate identification of Trichophyton species is crucial for determining appropriate antifungal therapy. Routine dermatophyte identification has relied on macroscopic and microscopic morphology, but this approach is considered time-consuming. This article compares the results of Trichophyton fungal observations using two main approaches: direct microscopic observation using KOH solution and culture methods on selective media such as Sabouraud Dextrose Agar (SDA). Phenotype-based identification is performed through colony characteristics in culture and microscopic examination in lactophenol cotton blue preparations. From KOH and culture examinations of clinical samples, the positivity rate by KOH is generally higher than that by culture, although culture remains the reference standard for dermatophyte species identification. Abstract

This study aims to determine the changes occurring in the epidermal cells of Rhoeo discolor before and after plasmolysis and to analyze the factors influencing the occurrence of plasmolysis. Observations were conducted by applying water and NaCl solution to the leaf epidermal cells. The results showed that cells treated with water became swollen, with tightly arranged purple-colored cells, whereas cells treated with NaCl solution underwent plasmolysis, characterized by cell shrinkage due to the loss of turgor pressure. This condition occurred because the hypertonic environment caused water to move out of the cells. In addition, this study analyzed the relationship between the transpiration rate and the number of stomata through observations of the lower leaf epidermis. The analysis revealed a relationship between the transpiration rate and the number of stomata in Rhoeo discolor, which was influenced by environmental conditions such as dry, shaded, and humid environments. Therefore, Rhoeo discolor exhibits physiological and anatomical adaptations to its environment, making it potentially useful as a learning resource and as an ornamental plant that can be cultivated under various environmental conditions.

Abstract

Stomata are microscopic pores located on the surface of leaves that play a significant role in plant physiological processes, particularly photosynthesis and transpiration. These structures regulate the exchange of gases between plants and the surrounding environment, thereby supporting plant growth and survival. This study aims to analyze the role of stomata in the gas exchange process of Rhoeo discolor using the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method. The review process involved identifying, selecting, evaluating, and synthesizing various scientific articles related to stomatal structure, function, and physiological mechanisms in plants. Relevant literature was collected from scientific journals discussing stomata and plant physiological activities. The findings of the review indicate that stomata in Rhoeo discolor function as the primary regulators of carbon dioxide (CO₂) uptake and oxygen (O₂) release during photosynthesis. In addition, stomata are responsible for controlling water vapor loss through the transpiration process, which is essential for maintaining water balance within the plant. The opening and closing mechanisms of stomata are influenced by several internal and external factors, including light intensity, temperature, water availability, humidity, and atmospheric CO₂ concentration. These factors affect guard cell activity, which determines stomatal movement. Furthermore, stomata contribute to maintaining physiological stability and optimizing metabolic processes in plants. Based on the reviewed literature, it can be concluded that stomata play a crucial role in enhancing the efficiency of gas exchange and supporting the overall physiological performance of Rhoeo discolor plants.
