Abstract

Abstrak Bawang merah merupakan tanaman hortikultura yang dibutuhkan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Alasan pentingnya masyarakat membudidayakan bawang merah sendiri yakni diantaranya kebutuhan bawang merah di dalam rumah tangga cukup banyak karena hampir setiap hari masyarakat mengkonsumsi bawang merah untuk memasak, maka dari itu untuk mengurangi pengeluaran masyarakat harus bisa mandiri dalam memenuhi kebutuhan hidupnya.  Dalam pembudidayaan bawang merah diperlukan bahan organik yang dapat membuat pertumbuhan baik sehingga menghasilkan produksi yang maksimal. Selama ini masyarakat hanya membuang sampah dedaunan disekitar pekarangan mereka sehingga dan ada juga yang membakar daun tersebut terjadinya pencemaran di lingkungan sekitar mereka. Pembuatan kompos diharapkan dapat diaplikasikan langsung untuk pembudidayaan bawang merah pada pekarangan rumah.

Abstract

Shallot is a horticultural commodity that has good market prospects because it contains high nutrition and can be used as spices and ingredients for traditional medicine. However, shallot production in Indonesia still often fluctuates and even experiences a shortage in meeting the needs of domestic consumers. To increase shallot production, this can be done through intensification efforts, namely by improving cultivation techniques, such as the use of organic fertilizers, proper fertilization, and the use of superior varieties. This study used a factorial randomized block design consisting of 2 treatment factors, namely factor I, fermented NPK ( F) consisting of 0 ml, 250 ml, 500 ml and 750 ml. Factor II was the variety (V) of the Brebes Bima variety, the Probolinggo variety and the Nganjuk variety. The parameters of plant observation were: plant height (cm) and production per plot (g). The data analysis method was a factorial randomized block design (RBD). The results showed that the application of fermented NPK and the use of varieties had a very significant effect on the parameters of plant height (cm) and production per plot (g).

Abstract

Green bean is a food ingredient that is extensively consumed by the general public and is categorized as having a high frequency of use. This study seeks to determine the effect of organic goat manure on the growth and yield of green beans (Vigna radiata L). It will also examine the impact of plant spacing and the interaction between the two factors. This investigation utilized a factorial randomized block design (RBD) with two regimens and three replications. The first variable was the amount of goat manure organic fertilizer applied to each plot: 0 kg/plot, 2 kg/plot, 4 kg/plot, and 6 kg/plot. The second factor is the variation of the different spacing sizes, which are 20 x 40 cm, 25 x 40 cm, 30 x 40 cm, and 35 x 40 cm. In this study, the following parameters were observed: plant height, number of productive branches, number of pods per sample, number of pods per plot, pod production per sample, pod production per plot, and 100 seed weight per sample. The study's results indicated that the application of goat manure organic fertilizer, the assessment of different plant spacings, and the interaction between the two treatments had no significant effect on any of the parameters. Include plant height, number of productive branches, number of pods per sample, number of pods per plot, pod production per sample, pod production per plot, and 100 seed weight per sample.

Abstract

Seedling quality is a determining factor in the success of arabica coffee cultivation. This study aimed to examine the effect of organic planting media and amino acid fertilizer on the growth of arabica coffee seedlings (Coffea arabica) Sigarar Utang variety. The research was conducted at the experimental field of the Agrotechnology Study Program, Pancabudi Development University, Glugur Rimbun Village using a factorial Randomized Block Design (RBD) with two factors. The first factor was organic planting media composition (chicken manure and topsoil) with four levels: M0 (control), M1 (150 grams), M2 (300 grams), and M3 (450 grams). The second factor was amino acid fertilizer dosage with four levels: A0 (control), A1 (2 grams/liter), A2 (4 grams/liter), and A3 (6 grams/liter), resulting in 16 treatment combinations with 3 replications. Parameters observed included plant height, stem diameter, leaf number, root length, and root volume at 4, 8, and 12 weeks after planting. Results showed that the M3A3 combination treatment (450 grams organic media + 6 grams/liter amino acid fertilizer) provided the best results for all observation parameters at 12 weeks with plant height of 18.083 cm, stem diameter of 2.742 mm, and leaf number of 13.417 leaves. This research contributes to developing quality and sustainable arabica coffee seedling techniques to support national coffee productivity.

Abstract

Feed availability and cost remain major constraints in sheep production, particularly in smallholder systems. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of substituting forage with agricultural waste–based concentrate on growth performance and economic efficiency of sheep. A Completely Randomized Design (CRD) was applied using four treatments with six replications (24 sheep) over a 62-day period. The treatments consisted of P0 (100% forage), P1 (70% forage + 30% concentrate), P2 (60% forage + 40% concentrate), and P3 (50% forage + 50% concentrate). Observed parameters included feed intake, average daily gain (ADG), feed conversion ratio (FCR), and cost per kg body weight gain. Data were analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA) followed by Duncan’s Multiple Range Test at a 5% significance level. The results showed that increasing the proportion of concentrate significantly (P < 0.05) improved both biological performance and economic efficiency. Feed intake increased from 860.00 to 1021.50 g/head/day, while ADG increased from 87.50 to 142.50 g/head/day. In contrast, FCR decreased from 9.83 to 7.15, indicating improved feed efficiency. Moreover, cost per kg body weight gain decreased substantially from Rp 52,000 to Rp 30,315. Duncan’s test revealed that treatment P3 consistently produced the best results, while P2 showed comparable efficiency in FCR. In conclusion, substituting forage with up to 50% agricultural waste–based concentrate effectively enhances growth performance and reduces production costs in sheep. This feeding strategy is recommended to improve productivity and profitability in small- to medium-scale sheep farming systems.
