Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to examine the effect of profitability on firm value by using capital structure as an intervening variable. The population in this study are companies listed on the PEFINDO25 index between 2009-2018, with 78 samples selected using purposive sampling. Analysis method using t statistic and path analysis. The results of data analysis show that profitability has a significant positive effect on firm value. Profitability has a significant positive effect on capital structure. Capital structure has no significant positive effect on firm value. Capital structure does not mediate the effect of profitability on firm value Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji pengaruh profitabilitas terhadap nilai perusahaan dengan menggunakan struktur modal sebagai variabel intervening. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah perusahaan yang terdaftar pada indeks PEFINDO25 antara tahun 2009-2018, dengan 78 sampel yang dipilih menggunakan purposive sampling. Teknik analisis data menggunakan analisis parsial (statistic t) dan path analysis Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa profitabilitas berpengaruh positif signifikan dengan nilai perusahaan. Profitabilitas berpengaruh positif signifikan terhadap struktur modal. Struktur modal berpengaruh positif tidak signifikan terhadap nilai perusahaan. Struktur modal tidak memediasi pengaruh profitabilitas terhadap nilai perusahaan.
