Abstract

C. kyllingia is an annual weed that can cause problems because it can reduce the quantity and quality of cultivated plant production, so this weed needs to be controlled. Weed control with synthetic herbicides is currently more popular because its effectiveness can be seen more quickly. However, if synthetic herbicides are used for a long period of time, they will affect soil conditions. Therefore, an alternative weed control using liquid smoke from empty oil palm fruit bunches (TKKS) is needed. The research aims to determine the potential of TKKS liquid smoke in controlling the growth of sedge weed (C. kyllingia). The design used a 1 factor Completely Randomized Design consisting of 5 treatments and 5 replications with liquid smoke concentrations of 0%, 8.3%, 16.6%, 25% and 33.3%. Research shows that TKKS liquid smoke has the potential to be used as a natural herbicide because it has an effect on suppressing the growth of the C. kyllingia weed. The best concentration that can suppress weed growth is 33.3% liquid smoke.

Abstract

Shallots (Allium ascalonicum L.) from the Lilyceae family are annual horticultural plants. The aim of this research is to determine the effect of the application of organic fertilizer plus on the diversity of arthropods in shallot plants in peatlands. The method used in this research was a one-factor Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of 4 treatments and 5 replications. Data from arthropod identification results are grouped based on order and family which are presented in tabular form. Then an analysis was carried out using diversity indices, species richness and species evenness. The results of the research show that the most dominant arthropods are the predator group. The results also show that the level of arthropod species diversity is moderate, the level of arthropod species richness is low, the level of evenness of arthropod species shows an unstable distribution. The most dominant group of arthropods is the predator group and the results of the LSD analysis test at the 5% level showed a real influence on the diversity of arthropods in shallot plants in peatlands where organic fertilizer plus 125 g/hole was applied with an average of 48.40 individuals.

Abstract

Jagung manis (Zea mays saccharata Sturt) merupakan salah satu komoditas pangan penting selain padi dan gandum, namun produktivitasnya sering terkendala oleh faktor biotik dan abiotik, terutama serangan hama ulat grayak tentara (Spodoptera frugiperda). Serangan hama ini dapat menyebabkan kehilangan hasil yang sangat tinggi, berkisar antara 80% hingga 100%. Upaya pengendalian yang umum dilakukan petani masih didominasi oleh penggunaan pestisida kimia secara intensif, yang dalam jangka panjang menimbulkan dampak negatif terhadap lingkungan, kesehatan manusia, serta keseimbangan ekosistem pertanian. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memanfaatkan potensi larutan daun galam sebagai pestisida nabati dalam menekan tingkat serangan, intensitas serangan, dan kerusakan tongkol jagung yang disebabkan oleh ulat grayak tentara (S. frugiperda). Metode penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) yang terdiri atas empat perlakuan konsentrasi larutan daun galam, yaitu 4%, 8%, 12%, dan 16%, serta dua kontrol berupa kontrol air dan kontrol pestisida kimia berbahan aktif lambda sihalotrin dengan konsentrasi 1 ml/L. Setiap perlakuan diulang sebanyak empat kali sehingga diperoleh 24 unit percobaan. Setiap unit percobaan terdiri atas 16 tanaman, dengan total keseluruhan sebanyak 384 tanaman jagung manis. Parameter pengamatan meliputi tingkat serangan, intensitas serangan, dan tingkat kerusakan tongkol akibat serangan S. frugiperda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa larutan daun galam memiliki kemampuan menekan serangan ulat grayak tentara dan berpotensi menjadi pestisida nabati yang efektif serta ramah lingkungan, sehingga dapat mengurangi ketergantungan terhadap pestisida kimia dalam budidaya jagung manis.

Abstract

Kesehatan manusia sangat dipengaruhi oleh kualitas pangan yang dikonsumsi, yang pada gilirannya ditentukan oleh proses budidaya tanaman. Praktik pertanian konvensional yang masih bergantung pada penggunaan pestisida kimia secara intensif berpotensi menimbulkan pencemaran lingkungan, menurunkan kualitas tanah, serta meningkatkan risiko gangguan kesehatan bagi manusia. Kondisi ini menuntut adanya pendekatan pertanian yang lebih sehat, ramah lingkungan, dan berkelanjutan. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan petani dalam menerapkan budidaya tanaman sehat bebas cemaran pestisida melalui pemanfaatan agens hayati Trichoderma spp. dengan teknik enkapsulasi sebagai bagian dari konsep pertanian presisi. Kegiatan dilaksanakan במסגרת Program Bina Desa ULM Berdampak Tahun 2025 di Desa Bentok Darat, Kabupaten Tanah Laut, Kalimantan Selatan, dengan melibatkan 31 anggota Kelompok Tani Alam Subur. Metode yang digunakan meliputi penyuluhan, diskusi partisipatif, demonstrasi lapangan pembuatan dan aplikasi Trichoderma spp. terenkapsulasi, serta evaluasi kegiatan melalui pre-test dan post-test untuk mengukur peningkatan pemahaman peserta. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan yang signifikan pada pengetahuan dan pemahaman petani mengenai keterkaitan antara pola hidup sehat, sistem pertanian terpadu, dan peningkatan produktivitas usaha tani. Seluruh peserta memahami manfaat penggunaan mikroba antagonis terenkapsulasi sebagai pupuk organik slow release yang ramah lingkungan, efektif dalam menekan patogen tanaman, serta aman bagi kesehatan manusia. Kegiatan ini diharapkan dapat menjadi model pengabdian berkelanjutan dalam mendukung pengembangan pertanian sehat dan berkelanjutan berbasis pertanian presisi.
