Abstract

Luk Ulo River is the biggest river across Kebumen, Central Java. It crossKarangsambung Area in meander form. Meander River has a sinuosity index >1.5. That’s why, its need to be proven if Luk Ulo River is a meandering river. Thisstudy start with measuring Indonesia’s Map which according to a theory aboutMeander River of Dury (1969) and field study. There are seven segments reveal abend which resemble the letter "S" and being measured also observation. Onlyfour segments are meanders, i.e. Kalikayen Pucangan, Pesanggrahan,Kedungwaru and Seling. Based on stadia study, Luk Ulo River inKarangsambung Area is classified as “mature-old” stadia. A river’s bend isaffected by lithology and geological structure which reflected in geologicalstraightness appearance.

Abstract

Land movements or landslides represent one of the geologic hazards. It is often occur in Indonesia including Kebumen area. Landslide is much related with geologic lineament. The aim these study to know the relation between landslides with geologic lineament. Landslide distribution is obtained by field survey; geologic lineament is obtained by interpretation of digital TM land sat. Dominantly, the geologic lineaments of this area are northwest – southeast ward and southwest – northeast ward. Those are related with tectonic. Most of landslide occurrences at research area reside at geologic linement zona. Landslide also influenced by slope, lithology, landuse and rainfall. Landslide type in research area is creeping, slump, debris slide, debris fall, rock slide, rock fall, earth slip, and subsidence. Research area has high potentiality of landslide; it is done mitigation.

Abstract

Land movements in Tinatah, Alian District–Kebumen occured since 2005. Ap-proximately 40 families from 80 families are in high risk when rapid landslides occur in this area. The aim of this study is to identified the high risk and relatively safe areas. The used method was by field survey to obtain natural conditional data, landslide indications, range finder measured to local topographic map, laboratory analysis of engineering properties of soils, and evaluation of potential landslide. The study finds land movements in Tinatah area were caused by lithology of marl-claystone, structural geology of trace of anticline and fault. The low of slope causing land movement very slow with creeping type. The highest risk area is the trace of anticline with marl-claystone lithology (RT 6 RW 2). The more stable locations are the location with calcarenite lithology (RT 8 RW 2) and andesite breccia (Kalinanas). Anticipatory steps that can be done by stabilize of slope, drainage regulation, socialization, relocation to more stable places.
