Abstract

Building a house is one of the most important decisions in a person's life. This decision is often accompanied by careful financial considerations. This thesis aims to compare the Cost of Goods Sold of building a house yourself or buying from a subcontractor at PT. Benhard Bagus Bersama in Makassar. The research method used is a descriptive quantitative approach to management accounting. Data was collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. The results of the study show that the COGS of a self-built house is cheaper than the COGS of buying from a subcontractor. The difference in COGS between the two schemes is Rp 25,915,256 or 25.9%. The factors that cause this difference in COGS are cost efficiency, reduction of subcontractor's profit, and the risk borne by the buyer. The conclusion of this study is that the self-build scheme is more cost-effective than the subcontractor purchase scheme. However, the self-build scheme takes longer, requires expertise and experience, and has a higher risk. Therefore, potential buyers are advised to carefully consider these factors before choosing the scheme that best suits their needs and abilities.

Abstract

Indonesia is the fourth most populous country with a population of more than 270 million people and is expected to continue to increase. The increasing population has an effect on increasing municipal solid waste (MSW) generation and energy demand. Waste-to-energy (WTE) can be a solution to these two problems. This article will discuss two types of waste-to-energy technology, namely anaerobic digestion and landfill gas recovery. The study began by conducting kinetic modeling on the two technologies to determine the potential of biogas energy produced from municipal waste in Indonesia, the case study applied was Yogyakarta. Then a feasibility study was carried out to find out whether these two technologies are possible to be applied in Indonesia in terms of various aspects such as initial capital costs, operating and maintenance costs, and waste processing service costs. At the end of the study, it was found that biogas power plant with both technology bases was economically feasible. Landfill gas recovery is more attractive because it has a smaller capital and a higher IRR of 22%. The scenario using anaerobic digestion requires a larger capital than the previous scenario and has a lower IRR value of 14%. Abstract

The wheel bolt of the CN235 220M aircraft is a type of fastener crucial for maintaining air pressure within the tire. It was discovered that this component fractured during operation. This study aims to conduct forensic analysis on the mechanism and causes of material failure through micro and macro morphological observations, chemical composition tests, microstructural analysis, and hardness testing on the fractured bolt. Micro-morphology results showed a crack tip in the initiation zone, which became a stress concentration point. Additionally, striations caused by cyclic loading were observed. EDS analysis revealed a high oxygen content in the initiation zone, indicating a corrosion-assisted crack. As cyclic loading continued, it gradually eroded the bolt's cross-sectional area until the material's fatigue led to final fracture.
