Abstract

Mental health is not something that is not considered important nowadays, especially mental health in women, in fact, it is found that 47 percent of women are at a higher risk of experiencing mental health disorders than men. The high number of stresses in women can be triggered by various factors, such as family and the surrounding environment. For this reason, women, especially those who are married and working, are expected to care more about their mental health and be able to manage stress by recognizing symptoms of mental health disorders, their triggers, and how to manage stress. In this community service, community service will be carried out in the form of increasing understanding of mental health in women and stress management. This activity was carried out using the method of delivering material or workshops and continued with the practice of mindfulness (meditation) accompanied by counselors who were attended by 30 members of the Dharma Wanita Audit Board of the Republic of Indonesia (BPK) Representatives of Maluku Province. Participants feel more educated with the material that has been delivered as well as mindfulness practices that can be applied every day.

Abstract

The development of digital democracy in Indonesia requires the younger generation to have adequate political and media literacy to understand and critically evaluate public information. However, the integration of political literacy, media literacy, and English language learning in madrasahs is still limited. This Community Service activity aims to improve madrasah students' political literacy and their ability to produce and disseminate public information through English-language media. The activity was held on October 9-10, 2025, at MAS SKB 3 Menteri Sei Tontong, involving 28 students as participants. The implementation method used a project-based learning approach, which included the delivery of political literacy material, training in English political vocabulary, and assistance in creating digital media content using the Canva application. Evaluation was carried out through pre-tests and post-tests, which were analyzed using the N-gain formula. The results of the activity showed an increase in participants' understanding, with most of the questions falling into the high category. In addition, the students were able to produce English-language media content containing educational information on public issues in Indonesia. This activity shows that the integration of political literacy, media literacy, and English language learning through digital content production can be an effective approach.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the writing errors made by EFL students based on their brain dominance machine: Sensing, Thinking, Intuiting, Feeling, and Instinct (STIFIn). A qualitative case study was adopted in finishing this study. The data collected in this study were processed by using two methods: statistical calculations for quantitative data about the errors the participants made in their text writing by using Gass & Selinker’s (2008) writing errors approach which was then categorized based on the respondents’ STIFIn brain dominance, and constructive analysis for qualitative data related to the results of comparing the errors. This study enrolled 41 students from a college of management studies, located in the city of Medan, Indonesia. The individuals with Sensing Extrovert made the most errors, with a ratio of 1:15 errors recorded in their texts, followed by Intuiting Introvert with 1:14,5 errors, Thinking Extrovert with 1:13,3 errors, and Thinking Introvert with 1:13 errors. Sensing Introvert made 1:12,5 errors, Instring 1:9,4, Intuiting Extrovert 1:9, Feeling Introvert 1:7,6, and Feeling Extrovert 1:7,5. Sensing Extrovert students committed the most errors, whereas Feelings (extrovert and introvert) produced the fewest. Numerous of the causes behind these results are discussed in detailed explanation within the STIFIn theory.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the translation equivalence of English agribusiness terminology and its Indonesian equivalents used in the English for Agribusiness learning materials at Universitas Timor. The research employed a descriptive qualitative case study design. The data consisted of fifty English agribusiness terms and their Indonesian translations collected from instructional materials used in the Agribusiness Study Program. The data were analyzed by integrating Baker’s word-level equivalence, Nida’s dynamic equivalence, and Koller’s denotative equivalence to evaluate lexical, conceptual, and communicative correspondence between the source and target languages. The findings revealed that 19 terms (38%) of the terms were categorized as equivalent, while 29 (58%) were classified as partially equivalent, and 2 terms (4%) were classified non-equivalent translations were identified. The equivalent translations successfully preserved the lexical meaning and agribusiness concepts of the source terms, whereas the partially equivalent translations involved lexical additions to improve clarity and naturalness in Indonesian without altering the intended meaning. The study concludes that the English for Agribusiness learning materials at Universitas Timor provide a high level of translation equivalence and effectively support students' comprehension of specialized agribusiness terminology in English for Specific Purposes (ESP). Abstract

This community service activity aims to strengthen English literacy in early childhood through instructional activities involving fruit salad making at the Chalisaturahmi Luqman Hakim Foundation in Medan. Participants consisted of 12 kindergarten students and 6 accompanying parents. The method used was participatory learning with a learning by doing approach, covering the stages of preparation, implementation, evaluation, and follow-up. Children were introduced to basic English vocabulary related to fruit names, colours, flavours, and simple instructions through the direct practice of making fruit salad. The pre-test and post-test evaluations showed an increase in English literacy skills with an average N-gain score of 0.6 (moderate category). Although the improvement was at a moderate level, this activity was able to foster enthusiasm in children, improve fine motor skills, build self-confidence, and maintain healthy living habits. This program also involved teachers and parents so that it could be continued at school and at home. Thus, this activity is relevant to support foreign language proficiency from an early age, in line with a curriculum that emphasizes active, creative, and fun learning, as well as being a model of contextual learning that can be replicated at various levels of education.
