Abstract

We live together with others-people who have different religions. There are many religion believed by people around us. Thus, there are some ways that we can do together with others and people who have other religions. The important thing to make a good relationship to one another is the consciusness which shows that reality is plural. The attitude that I choose here is relious pluralism which is a realistic attitude that comes from that consciusness. Religious pluralism is the way that I stiil stand on my identity (my religion), and I open to others (other religions) as partners in my life. Religious pluralism, here, is defined as a way of life with others to live together, to work together, and to make our life better as a member of society.

Abstract

Abstract

Religious life is directly related to cultural life. This is observable among Sundanese Catholics in Cigugur. In religious life, the respective Sundanese culture strongly marked its influence. The way one lives his or her religiosity also reflects their culture. It is common that religious people live together with other people of different religious belief and practices. In this context culture helps them to be able to live harmoniously with people from different religions. This article focuses on the history of the Catholic community in Cigugur, Kuningan while inquiring the role of the Sundanese culture in their daily life within their Catholic community.

Abstract

Christian peoples in megapolitan Jakarta are ordinary citizens like others. They have similar problems for instance unemployment, corruption and transparency, environmental degradation, transportation and traffic jam, etc. City offers pleasure and luxury too, that can alienate one from oneself. Before these chalenges, citizens need a model, one who can be inspiring. For Christians, Jesus Christ is Lord, as well as a model that can be imitated. But in a megapolitan context, who can it be a real figure of inspiration? In this case, Governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama or Ahok is an extraordinary local leader, and can be considered as a role model. His goverment is clean and strongly anti-corruption, transparent; his government is obviously administrating social justice. Character of a local leader that reflects the values of the Good News of Jesus Christ is indeed inspiring and can be followed as well imitated.

Abstract

ABSTRAKDi masa Pandemi Covid-19, pemerintah mengeluarkan aturan pembatasan sosial. Akibatnya, kehidupan beragama, termasuk Gereja Katolik, harus menyesuaikan diri dengan aturan itu. Untuk itu, Gereja Katolik Katedral Jakarta menyelenggarakan misa secara online atau live streaming, . Misa ini dialami sebagai misa virtual, yakni Umat mengalami “misa” yang tidak konkret seakan-akan mengalami misa riil. Pengalaman misa viratual ini adalah pengalaman hiperrealitas religius, yakni pengalaman yang melampaui kenyataan yang sebenarnya. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode fenomenologi kultural religius, dengan cara observasi, wawancara, studi pustaka dan penelusuran data internet. Objek penelitian adalah fenomena misa virtual dan pengalaman Umat menghayati misa virtual. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa fenomena misa virtual menjadi semakin natural, wajar dan normal, khususnya selama Pandemi Covid-19. Dengan berpartisipasi dalam misa virtual, Umat Katolik pun menjadi Gereja Virtual.ABSTRACTDuring the COVID-19 pandemic, the government issued social distancing rules. As a result, religious life, including the Catholic Church, must adapt to these rules. For this reason, the Jakarta Cathedral Catholic Church is holding the online or live-streaming mass. This mass is experienced as a virtual mass, that is, the people experience a "mass" that is not concrete as if they are experiencing a real mass. This virtual mass experience is an experience of religious hyperreality, i.e. an experience that goes beyond the actual reality. This research uses the religious cultural phenomenology method through observation, interviews, literature study, and internet data browsing. The objects of this research are the virtual mass phenomenon and the experience of the people living in the virtual mass. The research results show that the virtual mass phenomenon is becoming more natural, reasonable, and normal, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. By participating in the virtual Mass, Catholics also become a Virtual Church.

Abstract

Novel Durga Umayi adalah novel terakhir karya Y.B. Mangunwijaya. Ada banyak ironi yang diceritakan oleh Mangunwijaya. Tokoh utamanya mengalami transformasi kehidupan sejak masa kolonial Belanda hingga Orde Baru, juga perubahan situasi bangsa Indonesia. Mangunwijaya memandang perubahan-perubahan itu sebagai “wajar”. Namun sebagai novel ironi, yang dianggap “wajar” itu seharusnya tidak demikian. Untuk menaafsirkan novel ini, di sini digunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif, dengan perspektif ironisme (Rorty). Akhirnya dipahami bahwa ironisme merupakan strategi Mangunwijaya untuk melakukan kritik terhadap situasi sosial.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to interpret Job's identity in Job 1:1. At the beginning of the Book of Job, a description of Job is written, who is pious, honest, fear of God, and shuns evil. The image is interesting when it is repeated in several texts. The repetition of Job's description of envy relates to his doubts. In this study, Job's identity is interpreted in relation to the stakes placed on Job. As the first sentence of the Book of Job, this verse becomes an exposition that helps understand Job further. Finally, this study concluded that fear of God was the most important thing in Job. Fear of God is fundamental for people who believe in God. Fear of God is the core of the wisdom of the Book of Job.
