<![CDATA[The aim of this research was to explore the application of group discussion in cooperative learning at SMAN Sekedau Regency. The data obtained from the observation of learning with learning by combining the lecture method with group work on the subject of history. The findings of this study, namely cycle I people (86.11%), cycle II 17 people (87.00%), learning by combining the lecture method with group work on the subject matter has a positive influence, which could increase student learning motivation which is shown with the average student answers stating that students were interested and interested in learning by combining the lecture method with group work on the subject matter so that they become motivated to learn. The combined learning of the lecture method with group work on the subject matter was effective for reminding the teaching materials that had been received by students during the learning process, so that they felt ready to face general tests together. ABSTRAK TuJuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengeksplorasi penerapan diskusi kelompok dalam pembelajaran kooperatif di SMAN Kabupaten Sekedau. Data yang diperoleh hasil observasi pembelajaran dengan pembelajaran dengan gabungan metode ceramah dengan kerja kelompok pada mata pelajaran sejarah. Adapun temuan penelitian ini, yaitu siklus I orang ( 86,11%), siklus II 17 orang ( 87,00 %), Pembelajaran dengan gabungan metode ceramah dengan kerja kelompok pada materi pelajaran mempunyai pengaruh positif, yaitu dapat meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa yang ditunjukan dengan rata-rata jawaban siswa yang menyatakan bahwa siswa tertarik dan berminat dengan pembelajaran dengan gabungan metode ceramah dengan kerja kelompok pada materi pelajaran sehingga mereka menjadi termotivasi untuk belajar. Pembelajaran gabungan metode ceramah dengan kerja kelompok pada materi pelajaran efektif untuk mengingatkan kembali materi ajar yang telah diterima siswa selama proses pembelajaran, sehingga mereka merasa siap untuk menghadapi ulangan umum bersama.
