This article discusses Islamic law and fiqh as a side of Islam that struggles a lot with the dynamics of classical and contemporary life. Jurisprudence related to the realities of everyday life is a treasure that is wide open to across time, time, and human development itself. In fact, the idea of fiqh is positioned more as an absolute and tsawabit science, so it becomes difficult to develop the spirit of ijtihad and renewal in a syumuli way. So that the practical and dynamic side of fiqh itself becomes empty and loses its spirit. This is where K.H Sahal Mahfudz tries to position fiqh as reason and analysis that is able to answer the problems of society in a more progressive and transformative manner. Social, social and cultural conditions are facts of the ummah which also need refreshment and shariah foundation. This alignment and dialectic of fiqh with the social life of society is what K.H Sahal Mahfudz raised and voiced as a form of revitalizing shariah teachings that are sensitive to the ummah.
